Once upon a time, there lived a porcelain rabbit with furry ears. His name was Edward Tulane, and he belonged to a ten-year-old brunette girl named Abilene.

Edward was very special and seemed to have everything that any porcelain rabbit could wish for. He had a fabulous wardrobe designed just for him, and all his well-tailored pants had a small pocket to keep his gold watch. Abilene loved him dearly and spoke to him as if he were real, and even adults treated him kindly.

However, Edward did not understand how lucky he was until the day he fell from the railing of an ocean liner and was lost at sea. There, at the bottom, he felt for the first time in his life what darkness, fear, and uncertainty meant…

He felt the same when he was separated from the wife of a kind-hearted fisherman only to end up in a garbage dump. And the moment he felt a strong pain deep within his porcelain chest when he found himself beside a homeless man and in the arms of a boy playing the harmonica.

What is certain is that once Edward’s marvelous journey comes to an end, his fragile heart will be stirring with love, hope, and optimism.
