In this first part of "The History of the New Testament," two fundamental elements are highlighted from the outset, which also constitute the structural material of this book: a) the historical account and b) the theological processing of the events of the historical journey of Jesus Christ.
After two centuries of persistent and painstaking theological work in the biblical field, research should have concluded that it is impossible and unthinkable to present and record biblical history without also highlighting the corresponding theological processing, which is consistently undertaken in the texts of the New Testament by the sacred authors themselves.
The Holy Bible, with its sacred history and the events of divine Economy, is now considered to be the "word" of God, directed towards man and humanity in general.
This "word" of God was manifested and revealed within our world, becoming a visible, perceptible, and understandable "word," becoming a "fact" and "history" within human life. Divine Revelation is, of course, the word of God to man. However, in the event of the incarnation and humanization of the Word, man also has his own "word" within this sacred history.
Theology, in one regard, can be seen and understood as the "word" of man about God and divine revelation.
