From a young age, Nikolaos, son of Ioannis and Augoustina Melissourgou, showed his inclination towards the sacred and the revered. Born in 1851 in Naxos to relatively well-off parents, he soon revealed that he was sanctified from his mother's womb and displayed wisdom, maturity, and grace in the presence of God and his fellow humans.
