This is the second one I have bought after 10+ years of having the first one, which still works daily. The second one was purchased for my son's apartment, who is a student in Athens. I am very satisfied with this one, so I decided to buy the same again. As for the two-and-a-half-liter tank, if used throughout the day, it depends on the humidity levels; it is not enough, and it fills up in half a day. I don't think this is a problem, of course. After it starts operating, the zeolite begins to heat up, and warm air is released, consequently warming the space. Don't imagine something particularly hot, but it does a very good job. Now, the only problem I encountered was that two years ago, while it was starting to operate, it would stop after a while, and the power light would blink. Reading the manual, one of the reasons this could happen is a clogged air filter. This, of course, was not the case because I was washing it regularly. I decided to open it myself and found that the zeolite was full of dust. With a soft brush, so as not to damage it, I removed all the dust from it so that air could pass through it and be filtered. I reassembled it, and since then it has been working normally again. I believe that after so many years, it has paid for itself and more, and if it breaks again, I will buy the same one again

I have purchased it twice: the old version with the red LED and the temperature sensor in the air intake, and the new one with the green LED. They didn't have any significant difference for me, just that the latest version (green LED) notifies more accurately when the tank is full and the dehumidifier has stopped working completely. In the old version, you had to wait 10-15 minutes for the element to stop working.

Historically, I preferred this company as it had served me well in the United Kingdom when I used a dehumidifier for the first time. Of course, the insulation of the houses there cannot be compared to Greece in any way. But that is not related to my purchase.

What buyers should pay attention to is its placement. It should be strictly horizontal and the filter should be cleaned regularly, as others have also mentioned here. There are DIY modifications you can make to prevent dust from accumulating inside the device (using vacuum cleaner filters), as the filter does not cover the entire front air intake area.

Currently, after 6 and 8 years of continuous operation, both of them are still working. I have opened the old one, cleaned it internally after 6 years (it stopped working due to dust in the water outlet), and have been using it continuously with the drainage hose. It works perfectly since then. The new one started showing a continuous overheating indication (fault light constantly on) a few days ago. I will open it as well to see if I can fix it. I believe something has gone wrong with the rotating element.

At this point, I want to note that I have recommended this dehumidifier to many acquaintances in the past and they are all satisfied. However, personally, I am starting to lose confidence in this model. I don't think it's the construction's fault, but rather the filter that doesn't cover the air intake properly and completely. Of course, the clothes drying function is extremely effective (especially during winter, which is essential in my area where there is no washer/dryer).

I would not easily buy the same model for a third time. Considering its price and the duration of its operation, it is definitely not an unprofitable purchase. The power consumption during normal operation is moderate (I haven't made detailed measurements, but you can definitely feel the atmosphere change from the drop in humidity and the ionizer's operation). The electricity bill does not have a significant increase, especially when the room is heated better due to the decrease in humidity.

In a 110 sqm house, I always operated one of them due to the other one being faulty. For the short period when the old one was repaired, the simultaneous operation of both of them reduced the humidity in the house (usually 65-75% with a hygrometer) to the desired level of 50-55%.

I will update when I open the new dehumidifier, so you can have a comprehensive view from a long-term user.

----- UPDATE 14/3/21 -----
The old dehumidifier has been opened and is going for recycling. It was cleaned, all electrical and non-electrical components were checked, but as soon as I connected it again, no success. It doesn't work. From a certain point onwards, the hours of labor I put into it are not worth it. However, it did pay off its cost over all these years.

The newest one, cleaned carefully, impressed me with how effective the patent I made with the filters of the vacuum cleaner is, as it had no dust inside, nor did it catch any dirt in the water outlet. So this solution is recommended 100%.
I also noticed that the work done internally in managing the connections is better and it seems that more appropriate connections have been used. In the old one, I even found cold soldering. In the new one, everything is fine.

The only sure thing is that as a purchase cost, depending on your space needs, it is not negligible. However, if it lasts for 4+ years (it does its job very well), more money may come to an insignificant amount of €5-6/month if you follow certain tips (cleaning the filter 2-3 times a month / "installing" a more serious air intake filter by adapting filters from an electric vacuum cleaner / internal cleaning every 2-3 years).
The evaluation is a good guide for those who have some knowledge and training to enter the device's interior and give it a credit for proper operation time.

Personally, having experience with this dehumidifier for the most part of the last ten years, I will conclude by saying:
1) both of mine have lasted much longer than 5 years
2) I would definitely like a better construction of the air intake filter
3) it is quite silent - it works in my case (at night) at a distance of 4 meters from the bed, without disturbing / this is purely subjective
4) I would definitely like a longer warranty and
5) living in Central Greece, with the climate we have, it saves me to a large extent the cost of heating until autumn. After the noticeable drop in temperature, it helps maintain a pleasant warm atmosphere in the house while the central heating is working normally.

I will not give it four or five stars, it is effective and quite silent. The fact that it is a standard in its category is not accidental. However, it still has problematic construction and potential buyers can draw an overall safe conclusion from the many reviews on this website.

----- UPDATE (2) 14/3/21 -----
I uploaded the photos to show two cleaned models that are heading for the recycling of electrical appliances. They had a two-year difference between them and worked effortlessly, effectively, and quietly in difficult conditions.

After some thought, my future purchases will be:
1) another Meaco model for the house and
2) an Inventor XL with a compressor and WiFi control, so that I can have it directly connected to the drain and control it remotely for the country house. I estimate that in an open-plan architecture, if you have it far from the bedrooms, the sound of the compressor won't be so bothersome.

If a new Meaco model with zeolite, a five-year warranty, and a HEPA filter comes out, then I will get two! It's good to... dream.

I bought this dehumidifier on 11/12/2015, at that time it was the most popular on Scroutz.
As long as it worked (and it worked quite a lot, about 10 hours a day from November to April), it was flawless. For me, who moved it half a day in one half of the house and the other half in the other half, its biggest drawback was its completely uncomfortable handle. Because in the medium setting (which gives 50% humidity) it is not quiet, I always moved it to the room where I wasn't. If you plan to do something similar, you will be inconvenienced by the back and forth.
In November 2018, I noticed that the dehumidifying capability of the device had significantly decreased. I took it to the Sani Hellas dealership where they informed me that the zeolite disc needed to be replaced because it had lost its dehumidifying ability. Cost: 70€. In the conversation I had with the technician when I went to pick it up, I mentioned that I put it in the bathroom because when my wife takes a shower, it turns the bathroom into a steam room. There I heard the divine "Don't put it in the bathroom because it doesn't have moisture protection," at first I thought it was a joke but he meant it, I was stunned, a dehumidifier without moisture protection!!!!
In November 2020, I noticed another decrease in the dehumidifying capability of the device. With the lockdown, I managed to take it to Sani Hellas for service again in February 2021. Upon receiving the device, I mention the problem it has and they tell me, "Okay, it's a 6-year-old dehumidifier, zeolite lasts about 5 years." They check it and tell me that the zeolite disc and the heating element need to be replaced. Cost: 90€. I mention that I had already replaced it in 2018 at Sani Hellas, but they can't find it in their system and in the meantime, the zeolite has burned again.
In conclusion, for me, it is a very good dehumidifier but for heavy use (where I live, it has 80% humidity all winter), it will last 3-5 years. If the purchase price seems satisfactory to you in terms of lifespan, then get it with your eyes closed, you will be very satisfied. But after 3-5 years, you will need to pay a not insignificant amount for repair/maintenance.

⚠️READ ME⚠️

Purchased on 9/14. In all these years of continuous operation for 6+ months a year, and a whole month of uninterrupted operation, we reached 2021 and it burned the motor that rotates the zeolite. I diagnosed it after I opened it, but at the beginning, the fan would flash in position 2 and go into safe mode (triangle). Cost was 25 euros with shipping. Cleaning is necessary because I had never opened it before. Besides cleaning the filter once a month, I didn't do anything else. I went to buy a new one, to tell the truth, and I was disappointed, I admit, because of the many negative comments. Nevertheless, because I have experience with such constructions and hadn't had more problems, I decided to give it a chance. I must say that I fixed the machine, it was solved everywhere, including the zeolite for cleaning. The motor arrived today, I installed it, and it's already working.

It's an electric vacuum cleaner because it needs to suck up the resources of the zeolite, brush, and water, which are the cleaning materials.

For some, I have to say that it's not a stove. I have seen a difference of 2 to 4 degrees compared to the past when I didn't have it without additional heating. At the air outlet with the fan at 2, there is an air output with a temperature of 42.9 degrees, it prepares the space from humidity and cold atmosphere, so that the space can receive central heating faster and more efficiently. In combination with the air conditioner that I use in a house with low energy class and losses, it raised the temperature of the house, and the machines work more comfortably and effortlessly.
Simple and does what it promises, it changed the atmosphere in the house. Now, what each person has bought, how it works, what flaws it has if any, is another matter.
A machine that is one of the few for spaces with low heating.
What I would like to do at some point is maybe stick tape inside where the plastic joints are made so as to eliminate the air leaks beyond the filter because it collects a lot of stuff. If not now, I think it would be reasonable to open it for cleaning in two years.

TIPS:
⚠️The drawer that gets stuck, remove it and inside the dehumidifier's slot, on the left and right, there are 2 notches to lock it. Press them slightly inward with your hand to slightly misalign them and make it easier to remove the drawer. If you can't do it, put a piece of tape on them.

⚠️The motor makes noise like a tractor, krrkrrkrrkrrkrr.. it's the second small one at the bottom. It's clogged with dirt and rubbing. With a little WD-40 spray, it will come back like new.

⚠️Water dripping in continuous leakage and instead of draining, it fills the container again. With a plug made of a pen, for example, from the back or a little insulating tape, make a small ball and plug the vertical outlet. Be careful, not too deep, just enough to insert and wedge it so that the flow is not cut off in the horizontal outlet. It doesn't need to be high. I have it on a table at about 40 inches and I collect the water in a 10-liter plastic container under the table. I empty it every 2 days.

⚠️Water dripping from inside the machine. This worried me too, even though I didn't have a problem, of course. By opening the machine, I found 2 foam-like gaskets, not rubber. I didn't do much, I just rinsed them and I believe that because they had moisture and softened in the connection, they sealed correctly without any water leaks.

Edit 27/01/21. After a whole day of full operation, the machine works as if it came out of the box. Dehumidification is normal, no leaks or anything. Worth the service.

Edit 18/01/2022. One year and a few days later, it works as it should without any problems.

MEACO RULES..

I have had it for almost 5 years in a 90 sqm house, it was purchased for 215€ through Skroutz. There are days in winter when it stops and others when it works non-stop day and night, it requires emptying about 3 times a day due to high humidity. As for the smell, they say it will only smell on the first day after storage, afterwards it may have a minimal smell if you put your nose where the air comes out. The noise at medium speed, which I use, doesn't bother me and I can hear it all day because it is placed in the living room. The advantage of this technology, which I saw in practice, is that it releases air that is 5 to 10 degrees warmer, so you save on heating costs compared to the power it consumes for dehumidification, it helps in combination with heating. In terms of technology, it doesn't have anything special, not even an indication of humidity. Overall, I am very satisfied with it, but I don't think I would buy it again, firstly because the price has gone up from 215 to 260, and secondly because I know that in the last 6 years, there have been no changes, not even in color, there is no evolution of the model.
