The ZigBee gateway functions as a device that collects data from all sensors and actuators, while allowing the operation of scenarios and automation systems even when we do not have internet access.

Wireless data transmission protocol used for bidirectional communication between devices. Bidirectional communication means that each device can receive and send a signal. The system was created in 2002 by the ZigBee Alliance, which continues to be involved in its development and promotion. The main feature of the new communication standard is low power consumption and simple construction at low cost. This has been achieved and is now a reality. It has a range of approximately 15 meters.

    To be honest this unit is extremely small, hard to tell in the photos but we are talking much smaller than a packet of cigarettes! It was easy to set up and has been very effective in use so I am very happy with it. Just be aware it does not come with a power supply so you need to connect it to a normal USB port to power it. Not a problem for me because I have spare USB ports dotted around but it could be an issue if you don't have a spare phone charger.
