The PS4 fighting game Them's Fightin' Herds Deluxe Edition combines four-button combat mechanics, a magic system and enhanced super attacks, while damage scaling in aerial sequences prevents endless combos. The episodic story mode features exploration, combat challenges, mini-games and boss battles. It supports offline matches and online play with GGPO rollback netcode.

The tutorial and training modes include guided lessons, a practice room with detailed data and combo trials, while the replay system lets players record and review battles frame by frame. In the virtual lobby, players meet and customize their avatars using resources collected from the Salt Mines, a dungeon-crawling mini-game. Battle music adapts to the characters.
