Oud is the quintessence of woody scents. Its unique olfactory interest makes it the most precious material you can work with. I had the fortune to work with an amazing quality oud from Ajmal in India, where all the aromatic facets of oud are in perfect balance: smoky, lively, leathery, addictive, and powerful.
The heart of the fragrance belongs to Magnolia Lilybelle, which gives it a lively note of freshness, a watery character. A generous dose of Ambrocenide® and Ambrostar® was used, aromatic molecules that make the fragrance last. Chords were composed with 3 exceptionally rare woody materials:
- The heart of patchouli that reveals the dark side of oud.
- The sacred sandalwood of India that unfolds a velvety, warm aroma.
- The vetiver of Madagascar that offers an earthy, almost smoky aromatic effect.
These materials combined with the right formula are like a hybrid of the ideal wood. The final note belongs to Oud Boya, which underscores the oriental, woody character of the fragrance.
