Almonds are the most nutrient-rich type of nuts. A serving (about 20 almonds, which fit in 2 handfuls) is an excellent source of vitamin E and magnesium, a good source of protein and dietary fiber, and provides potassium, phosphorus, iron, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, and low levels of saturated fat and no cholesterol. They are also a very good source of calcium: one cup of almonds gives us as much calcium as a small piece of feta cheese!
