The TP-LINK Deco X55 is excellent. I imagine that all TP-LINK WiFi Mesh systems are just as good in setup and management. The mobile app they have for management is amazing.
I connected the first one to the Router with a cable, having of course disabled the Router's WiFi. I connected the second one wirelessly to the first (WiFi backhaul). Basically, it connected automatically, I did nothing. Once the first was set up, the second was immediately detected.
If you connect it to the Router, it’s best from the Deco settings in the app to change it from WiFi Router, which is Default, to Access Point. This way, they won’t create an additional separate network; they’ll be part of the Router, with all that this entails as you can understand.
Ideally, of course, you’d have structured cabling, a Switch, and put a Deco with a cable in every room of the house. That way you’d have absolute wireless speed in all rooms. However, most people don’t have the infrastructure to do this.
So the ideal setup is:

Of course, these Mesh WiFi systems are recommended, especially at the price they are now (~€150 for two). I got both for €108 on offer.

So far they do their job wonderfully, and the app offers many options for monitoring and controlling all the devices connected to the network. I would like them not to start losing signal constantly after 2 years of use as happened with ALL the tp-link access points I had. Supposedly, this problem was solved by mesh, but time will tell
