  • I've had it for 5 years, it's fantastic in terms of bass, treble, battery, even in water it's excellent, durable, quality, with two kids constantly messing with the bass... I recommend it with my eyes closed, and it's small and convenient

Amazing speaker with very good sound quality and a battery that lasts for days. I've had it for almost 2 years with daily use (it plays music for my painting studio needs) and it hasn't changed one bit. The space is quite large and it doesn't even need to play above 50% of its capabilities. I highly recommend it

Quite a good product. I also discovered that if you hold down the volume down button and the pause button for a few seconds [about 5-10], it enters a mode [one of the lights that indicate the speaker's battery turns pink] which I think slightly enhances the bass. I give it 4/5 because in some songs, depending on whether you are on YouTube or Spotify, the sound crackles a bit.

Guys, I don't know what you're saying about the battery, but as an owner of the JBL Charge 5, it has a better battery than the Charge 5. Their sound between the Essential 2 and the Charge 5 is the same because they have the same setup (woofer, tweeter). Its disadvantages are that it doesn't connect to the app, it doesn't have partyboost, and it has the old design of the Charge 4, but that's not a big deal. If the other person doesn't care about connecting it to other JBL speakers, then they can go for this one, but if they want to pair it with other JBL speakers, they should go for a Charge 5 or Flip 6! The sound is crystal clear and the bass is very good for its size!

  • It is very sturdy and well-built.
It has a very clear and crystal sound with a lot of power.
    Its bass is very good.
It doesn't suffer from water or height.
    Very strong investment.
I can't even remember the last time I charged the battery.
(I use it for about 2 hours a day and I haven't charged it for over a month.)
I would buy it again without hesitation

I had bought the Flip 5. I used to have the Charge 3.
With the Flip, I made a mistake because it is 20w.
I got the Charge Essential 2 and it is equal to the Charge 3 in volume and bass. I often tremble when I read reviews, I can't trust any side. In the end, those who write good things about the 2 were right.
    IT IS QUITE POWERFUL.

  • The evaluation will be based on the money spent on the speaker.
    Positive.
    1. Seeing such a small device, no one is prepared for what they will hear. Power. A lot of power! Awesome depth (bass) for its size.
    2. Nice midrange, relatively clean.
    3. Awesome battery life and built-in power bank.
    4. It has a cloth case inside to carry it everywhere without worrying about where to store it or if it will get scratched.
    5. Solid build quality with silicone around the subs.

    Negative.
Its highs (treble) are not as clear at maximum volume of the speaker. There is the phenomenon of "clipping," which can be solved with an equalizer. And here is the following problem. The original JBL application seems unable to connect to it.

    Summary
For its price and size (fits easily in a beach bag without taking up space), it is truly UNBELIEVABLE what you get with this little flaw in the treble. If it were a bit cleaner in the treble, it would be 5 stars without a doubt!

At 100 euros, it is perhaps the best purchase for a portable speaker. It is powerful and has very good highs due to the tweeter. However, I must mention that the overall sound quality does not represent JBL, as the bass and especially the mids sound somewhat strange and in some cases it sounds like a cheap speaker. It definitely has a difference compared to the Charge 5 in terms of sound, but it is still a very good purchase, especially at 100-120 euros! The battery is fine, it has a lot of volume, and the JBL build quality needs no further mention here... The only serious downside (which is why it is essential) is the fact that it does not connect to other speakers, meaning it does not have Connect Plus or Party Boost.

Very strong and nice sound, tested with different types of music. I haven't seen anything regarding the battery as I had seen in the reviews. Personally, at 40% volume, I can hear it in a 40 sqm room, maybe at 50% if I'm further away. After 5 days with 3 hours of use per day, I haven't seen the battery drop yet, so the volume also plays a role in consumption

I bought the speaker in early January, and in October, after 10 months, it started not charging properly (when I plugged it into the socket, the charging indicator would sometimes get stuck on the same line for over ten hours). Sometimes, even if it was plugged in, it would shut off on its own due to low battery. The speaker has a two-year warranty, so I took it back for service. The store wrote down the problem and sent it for service to another company, which is probably a JBL dealership called Audio & Vision Kotzifas & Co. They checked the speaker and didn't find any issues, as they stated, and sent it back with the explanation that it's working fine. However, for some reason, the speaker would show as charged, but as soon as it ran out of battery, it never charged again (I tried different chargers to make sure it wasn't the charger's fault). I will request a refund!

The speaker is simply fantastic. I've had it for 2 months and I've compared it to the JBL Extreme 2, and it may sound strange to you, but the Charge Essential is more powerful. Get it, it's worth every penny of its 100%.

Its size is ideal for transportation as it is small. Its sound is more than enough. I bought it for 100 euros. The price is borderline good. If the battery lasts for 20 hours, it will be amazing!

I use it a little over 1 week, tested waterproof, sturdy construction with a very high-quality feel. Very clean sound, very powerful sound despite its only 20w. Compared to the Charge 4, I have the impression that it excels in sound intensity, but it lacks in bass (not as deep). The price difference with the Charge 4 is around 20-30€, if you prefer deeper bass then it's better to choose the Charge 4. If you simply want something quality that does practically the same job as its bigger brother but for less money, then the Charge Essential is a very good choice. I emphasize that the differences found are subjective, they may vary from ear to ear and were observed after testing both speakers side by side, which suggests that the average user is unlikely to notice any difference.

Quite good but the battery at 100% doesn't last long, it lasts around 3 hours

  • I've had it for 5 years, it's fantastic in terms of bass, treble, battery, even in water it's excellent, durable, quality, with two kids constantly messing with the bass... I recommend it with my eyes closed, and it's small and convenient

  • Amazing speaker with very good sound quality and a battery that lasts for days. I've had it for almost 2 years with daily use (it plays music for my painting studio needs) and it hasn't changed one bit. The space is quite large and it doesn't even need to play above 50% of its capabilities. I highly recommend it

  • I've had it for two months, very good battery, you don't need to take it to the max. Frequent use and I've charged it twice. Very good

  • Quite a good product.

  • Guys, I don't know what you're saying about the battery, but as an owner of the JBL Charge 5, it has a better battery than the Charge 5.
