Description

The first comprehensive review of Chloé's collections is presented through runway photographs, published in collaboration with Chloé to celebrate the house's 70th anniversary in 2022. Founded by Egyptian Gaby Aghion in 1952, Chloé launched luxury ready-to-wear focused on ease and femininity, offering a chic, bohemian style for the modern, liberated Parisian.

Absolutely contemporary, the house identified and hired the young Karl Lagerfeld as early as the 1960s: he remained for over two decades, gaining fame and recognition globally through his work at Chloé, before being succeeded by Stella McCartney (and her then-assistant Phoebe Philo) right after she graduated from fashion school. This definitive publication opens with a brief history of the Chloé house, before exploring the collections, which are organized chronologically.

Each new era in Chloé's history begins with a short overview and biography of the new designer, while individual collections are introduced with brief text revealing their influences and reference points, illustrated with carefully selected runway photographs. A rich reference section, including an extensive index, completes the book.

After Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Vivienne Westwood, and Versace, Chloé is the eighth in the series of luxury, fabric-covered books that offer an unmatched overview of the collections of the world's top fashion houses through authentic runway photographs.
