Guys, the Canon R6 II is simply on another level. Everything works as it should, without driving you crazy with menus and glitches. Its image is warm, natural, full of life, not like some Sony cameras that produce cold colors, as if they shot inside a fridge. The Canon's autofocus locks onto the eye and never loses it, while the others are still trying to figure out what they're shooting. In video, the Canon records 4K without crop, clean and sharp, and it doesn't overheat after ten minutes. Meanwhile, the Sonys heat up as if they're baking a pie inside. And the menus? Don't even get me started... you need a diploma to change the white balance. With Canon, you go in, change it, and continue. The R6 II is a camera that works, that lets you create. The Sonys are cameras that make you struggle with buttons and settings until you forget why you wanted to shoot in the first place. Το autofocus της Canon κολλαει στο ματι και δεν το χανει ποτε, ενω οι αλλες ψαχνουν ακομα να καταλαβουν τι τραβανε.Στο βιντεο, η Canon γραφει 4K χωρις crop, καθαρα και sharp, και δεν καιγεται μετα απο δεκα λεπτα. Οι Sony στο μεταξυ ζεσταινονται λες και ψηνουν μπουγατσα μεσα τους. Και τα μενου; Μην το συζηταμε... θελεις διπλωμα για να αλλαξεις white balance. Στην Canon μπαινεις, το αλλαζεις, συνεχιζεις.Η R6 II ειναι καμερα που δουλευει, που σε αφηνει να δημιουργησεις. Όταν ξεκινάς στο μαγικό χώρο της φωτογραφίας το πρώτο πράγμα που μαθαίνεις είναι ότι πρώτα επιλέγεις φακούς και μετά σώμα αυτό σαν αρχή κάνει την Canon μονόδρομο μιας και διαθέτει φακούς που άλλες εταιρείες ακόμα το προσπαθούν να φτιάξουν με συμπράξεις και αλχημείες. Όσο για το συγκεκριμένο σώμα για κάποιο ερωτευμένο με τη φωτογραφία (ερασιτέχνη) ξεπερνάει κάθε προσδοκία . Πολύ συχνά την βλέπω και σε χέρια επαγγελματιών που θα μπορούσαν να έχουν οποιαδήποτε άλλη και όμως… θα συμφωνήσω ότι μετά από δύο χρόνια η τιμή είναι πολύ υψηλή από την άλλη πάλι δείχνει ότι υπάρχει ζήτηση που την κρατά ψηλά και αυτό συνεπάγεται ότι η μεταπώληση της αξία θα επιτρέψει την αναίμακτη μετακίνηση στην R iii … χωρίς παντόφλα …..)
After 1 year of use I can say that it is an excellent camera for all purposes. The advantages are many and well-known. I will focus on the disadvantages:
The battery lasts about 3/7 less than a typical DSLR. Here Canon needs to do much more to reach the old standards.
The MP could be 26-28. The 24 is an improvement over the 20 of the mk1, but no one says no to a bit more.
An improvement in AF, especially in product photography, would be welcome.
Of course, compatibility with 3rd party lenses is essential. This concerns Canon in general. Both at the mount level and at the software level. The enemy of good is better.
Μετά από 1 χρόνο χρήσης μπορώ να πω ότι είναι μια εξαιρετική κάμερα για όλες τις χρήσεις. Τα πλεονεκτήματα είναι πολλά και γνωστά. Θα εστιάσω στα μειονεκτήματα:
Η μπαταρία κρατάει κατά 3/7 λιγότερο από μια τυπική DSLR. Εδώ η Canon πρέπει να κάνει πολλά περισσότερα για να φτάσει τα παλιά standard.
Τα MP θα μπορούσαν να είναι 26-28. Τα 24 είναι μια βελτίωση από τα 20 της mk1, αλλά κανείς δεν λέει όχι σε κάτι παραπάνω.
Μια βελτίωση στο AF, ειδικά σε προϊοντικές φωτογραφίσεις θα ήταν ευπρόσδεκτη.
Φυσικά η συμβατότητα με 3d party φακούς είναι κάτι απαραίτητο. Αυτό αφορά την Canon γενικότερα. Και σε επίπεδο mount αλλά και σε επίπεδο software. Εχθρός του καλού το καλύτερο.
Very strong body especially for professional use in weddings-baptisms I think nothing more is needed the only downside is Canon's very expensive RF lenses. I do not recommend the adapter especially if it is a heavy lens there are issues…

Canon R6 Mark II — A Shipwreck with an Expensive Ticket

I am an owner of the Canon R6 Mark II and in this article I will speak bluntly. Not with technical specs, numbers, and marketing promises, but with experience from real use. If you came for an enthusiastic hymn to Canon, warning: this article is not for you.
1. HDMI… small in size, huge disappointment
The small HDMI is a minus on its own. But the real disappointment starts when you use an external monitor: the camera’s LCD turns off. You lose the touch screen autofocus — one of the biggest advantages of the R6 Mark II. So? You lose your flexibility in the field.
2. “Clean” HDMI... only in theory
Canon advertises "clean HDMI," but it’s "clean" only when not recording. When you start recording, all the info overlays appear on the external signal and won’t go away no matter what. There’s no way to get a clean signal while recording. A serious blow for those of us who work professionally with external recording or live productions.
3. The high frame rate... a trap
A moment that left me speechless: While recording 4K at 50fps, I choose to try 100fps. I enter "High Frame Rate" mode and the camera switches to Full HD. I don’t mind temporarily. But when I turn it off and think I’m back to 4K — surprise! The camera remains at Full HD 50fps without any notification. You ruin footage without realizing it.
4. MOV then (5D Mark III), MP4 now — seriously?
As a former owner of the Canon 5D Mark III, I know what file quality means. The Mark III recorded in MOV. Quality, heavy files, professional. The R6 Mark II in MP4. Compressed, cheap-feeling. Unacceptable for a camera in this category.
5. The viewfinder is not for 2025
Feeling... blurry. A soft image. Our eyes are now used to high-resolution EVFs. Not here, though. It doesn’t inspire confidence for shooting, doesn’t help you be sure of the result.
6. The same old menu — 12 years behind
Canon shows it hasn’t made real progress. The R6 II’s menu is about 85% the same as the 5D Mark III. Meanwhile, Sony offers absolute customization: you tweak image, colors, black levels, knee, saturation — everything. Canon, nothing. No inspiration, no freedom.
7. Canon became the old Sony and Sony the old Canon
It’s reality. Canon follows a philosophy of locked features, while Sony has spread its wings. Professionals buy Canon only for the old EF lenses they own. But that’s no reason to stay behind. A friend of mine who wanted the R6 II tried mine for a week and told me: "You saved me. It’s a disappointment."
8. And a dose of irony to close...
With the same Canon EF lenses, the R6 II takes photos that... are unwatchable. In contrast, the Sony A7 III with a Metabones adapter, with the same lenses, delivers images that are poetry.
Final verdict
For me, the Canon R6 Mark II is not just a failed product. It’s a shipwreck that clearly shows Canon is betting on its name and not on substance. If you want quality, flexibility, and respect for the user: Sony all the way.

2. “Καθαρό” HDMI... μόνο στη θεωρία
Η Canon διαφημίζει "clean HDMI", όμως είναι "καθαρό" μόνο όταν δεν γράφει. Όταν ξεκινήσει η εγγραφή, όλα τα info overlays εμφανίζονται στο εξωτερικό σήμα και δεν φεύγουν με τίποτα. Δεν υπάρχει τρόπος να πάρεις καθαρό σήμα ενώ γράφει. Ένα σοβαρό πλήγμα για όσους δουλεύουμε επαγγελματικά με εξωτερικές εγγραφές ή live παραγωγές.
3. Το high frame rate... παγίδα
Ένα στιγμιότυπο που με άφησε άφωνο: Ενώ γράφω 4K στα 50fps, επιλέγω να δοκιμάσω 100fps. Μπαίνω σε "High Frame Rate" mode και η μηχανή γυρίζει σε Full HD. Δεν με πειράζει προσωρινά. Όμως, όταν το απενεργοποιώ και νομίζω ότι επέστρεψα σε 4K — έκπληξη! Η μηχανή παραμένει σε Full HD 50fps χωρίς καμία ειδοποίηση. Καταστρέφεις footage χωρίς να το καταλάβεις.
4. MOV τότε (5D Mark iii), MP4 τώρα — μα σοβαρά;
Ως πρώην κάτοχος της Canon 5D Mark III, ξέρω τι σημαίνει ποιότητα στο αρχείο. Η Mark III έγραφε σε MOV. Ποιοτικά, βαριά αρχεία, επαγγελματικά. Η R6 Mark II σε MP4. Συμπιεσμένο, φτηνό στην αίσθηση. Απαράδεκτο για μηχανή σε αυτή την κατηγορία.
5. Το viewfinder δεν είναι για το 2025
Aίσθηση... ασάφειας. Μια εικόνα soft. Τα μάτια μας έχουν πλέον συνηθίσει σε υψηλής ανάλυσης EVFs. Όχι όμως εδώ. Δεν εμπνέει εμπιστοσύνη για τη λήψη, δεν σε βοηθά να είσαι σίγουρος για το αποτέλεσμα.
6. Το ίδιο παλιό μενού — 12 χρόνια πίσω
Η Canon δείχνει ότι δεν έχει κάνει ουσιαστική πρόοδο. Το μενού της R6 II είναι κατά 85% ίδιο με εκείνο της 5D Mark III. Την ίδια ώρα, η Sony προσφέρει απόλυτη παραμετροποίηση: πειράζεις εικόνα, χρώματα, black levels, knee, saturation — τα πάντα. Η Canon, τίποτα. Καμία έμπνευση, καμία ελευθερία.
7. Η Canon έγινε η παλιά Sony και η Sony η παλιά Canon
Είναι πραγματικότητα. Η Canon ακολουθεί μια φιλοσοφία κλειδωμένων δυνατοτήτων, ενώ η Sony έχει ανοίξει τα φτερά της. Οι επαγγελματίες αγοράζουν Canon μόνο για τους παλιούς EF φακούς που έχουν. I bought the Canon EOS R6 II with high hopes that it would be the ultimate camera for my needs. In the end, I kept it for less than a month and sold it, as my experience with it was filled with disappointments.
The image quality is clearly good, with excellent performance in low light, but the overall package does not justify its price. The autofocus system is fast, but not as reliable as advertised, especially in more demanding conditions. I also found the menu and the overall operation of the camera quite complicated, resulting in me wasting time on settings instead of focusing on shooting.
One of the biggest problems for me was the weight and size, especially when combined with RF lenses. The camera is simply too bulky to be enjoyable to use for everyday or travel shots. Additionally, the battery performance was not up to my expectations, especially for a mirrorless camera in this category.
After being disappointed by the Canon R6 II, I decided to sell it and try the Fujifilm X-T5, thinking that perhaps I would find the balance there. However, I faced new disappointments there as well.
Ultimately, I ended up with the OM System OM-5, and I admit it was the most pleasant surprise. A camera that doesn't catch your eye at first glance, but offers portability, reliability, excellent stabilization, and image quality that competes with much more expensive options. The OM-5 combines everything I was looking for in a camera, without having to carry weight or pay extra for features I don't use.
The Canon EOS R6 II is a powerful camera for specific needs, but for me, it failed to find its place in my gear. If you are looking for something versatile, user-friendly, and reliable, look elsewhere; perhaps the OM-5 is what you need!

Επιπλέον, η απόδοση της μπαταρίας δεν ήταν αντάξια των προσδοκιών μου, ειδικά για μια mirrorless μηχανή αυτής της κατηγορίας.

A product among the few. Perfect quality body but they raised the price by €1000 on the R6 ii without any explanation. In the rest of the world, the body is under 2 grand..It is what it is.

Purchased for professional use a year ago, and since then it has gone for service 2 times, please note. Good quality materials, but it seems to lack in durable mechanical parts compared to the High End series. The price is overrated. Coming from the classic R and RP, the leap was quite big.
Absolutely no complaints about the construction, the camera is comfortable to hold and doesn't tire the hand.
The photos it takes, even with old EF lenses, are incredibly clear and the autofocus is truly amazing.
As for video, the camera shoots very clean 4K and it's important that it doesn't crop at 60fps.
The only negatives for me are the micro HDMI, which is garbage, and I wonder why companies still use it, and the camera's log profile, which is quite good and honest compared to older Canon models in its category. I think Canon should have a similar log to the C log 2, if not the same, which would be a bit more flexible than the C log 3. Overall, the camera is very reliable, I use it professionally and it hasn't disappointed me in any of my projects!
If you're a photographer, don't think twice, especially if you're already in the Canon system!
If you're a videographer and you're serious about it, go for the Canon Cine series or switch to another brand, although at this price point, you won't find much better elsewhere. However, if you're shooting content for YouTube or social media, or even for jobs that require a bit of video and you're not shooting a film, etc., the camera is perfect for those purposes!

Ερχόμενος από την κλασική R και RP το άλμα ήταν αρκετά μεγάλο.
Κανένα απολύτως παράπονο στο κατασκευαστικό κομμάτι η μηχανή είναι άνετη στο κράτημα και δεν κουράζει το χέρι.
Οι φωτογραφίες που τραβάει ακόμα και με παλιούς ef φακους ειναι απιστευτα ευκρινεις και το autofocus τα σπαει πραγματικα.
Οσον αφορα το βιντεο η μηχανη τραβαει πολυ καθαρο 4κ και σημαντικο που δεν κανει κροπ στα 60fps.
.Τα μονο αρνητικα της μηχανης για εμενα εναι το micro hdmi το οποιο ειναι για τα σκουπιδια και απορω γιατι το χρησιμοποιουν οι εταιριες ακομα και το log προφιλ της καμερας ενω ειναι αρκετα καλο και τιμιο σε σχεση με παλιοτερες Canon της κατηγοριας νομιζω η Canon θα επρεπε να εχει ενα παρομοιο log με το c log 2 αν οχι το ιδιο το οποιο να ειναι λιγο πιο ευελικτο απο το c log 3. Γενικα η μηχανη ειναι τιμιοτατη την χρησιμοποιω επαγγελματικα και δεν με εχει απογοητευσει σε κανενα προτζεκτ μου!!!
Αν είσαι φωτογράφος μην το σκέφτεσαι λεπτό ειδικά αν είσαι από canon συτημα!!!
Αν είσαι βιντεογραφος και το πας σοβαρα να πας σε Cine σειρά της Canon η αλλαξε εταιρια αν και σε αυτη την τιμη δεν θα βρεις πολυ καλυτερα σε καμια αλλη. Αν όμως τραβάς content για YouTube Social ακομα και σε δουλειες που χρειαζεται λιγο βιντεο και δεν γυρνας ταινια κλπ η κάμερα είναι φουλ τουμπανη γιαυτα!
It is a very good camera that delivers on its promises. I know three professional photographers, reporters, and wedding photographers who are super satisfied. I won't hide from you that I was a little disappointed with the grip, especially with large lenses like the 70-200. Having been accustomed to the 5D (mk2 mk3 mk4) and the R6 mk2 for quite a few years, it seems to me like an amateur camera. Not only in terms of build quality but also in its menus. It is clear that Canon with this model is targeting a wider audience, from the knowledgeable to the beginner blogger. Despite my disappointment, I must note the excellent video quality, the amazing performance at high ISOs, and of course, the very good autofocus.
Είναι μια πολύ καλή μηχανή, που ότι υπόσχεται το κάνει. Γνωρίζω τρεις επαγγελματίες φωτογράφους, ρεπόρτερ αλλά και φωτογράφους γάμων που είναι σούπερ ευχαριστημένοι. Εγώ δε σας κρύβω ότι απογοητεύτηκα λίγο από την αίσθηση στο κράτημα ειδικά με μεγάλους φακούς πχ 70-200 . Μαθημένος αρκετά χρόνια στις 5D (mk2 mk3 mk4) η R6 mk2, Μου φαίνεται σαν μια ερασιτεχνική μηχανή Όχι μόνο στην ποιότητα κατασκευής αλλά και στα μενού της. Είναι ξεκάθαρο ότι η Canon με αυτό το μοντέλο απευθύνεται σε ένα διευρυμένο κοινό απο τον γνώστη έως τον πρωτάρη blogger. Πέραν την απογοήτευση μου, να σημειώσω το εξαιρετικό βίντεο, την φοβερή απόδοση σε υψηλά ISO. Και φυσικά το πάρα πολύ καλό AF.
Much faster compared to the RP that I now use as a backup. To fit well in the hand (at least in mine), it needs a battery grip. Top image quality.
Πολυ πιο γρήγορη σε σχέση με την RP που έχω σαν βοηθητική πλέον. Για να κάτσει καλά στο χέρι (στο δικό μου τουλάχιστον) θέλει battery grip. Κορυφαία ποιότητα εικόνας.
It seems quite plastic compared to the EOS R and definitely not as sturdy, but in terms of functions it is perfect. It's excellent that it has a separate menu for video as soon as you switch the relevant dial. A negative is that the IBIS does not work with ADAPTED lenses in combination with the lens IS. Also, the free version of DaVinci does not open Log video

This principle makes Canon the only way to go, as it offers lenses that other companies are still trying to make through partnerships and alchemy. As for this particular body, for someone in love with photography (an amateur), it exceeds every expectation. Very often, I see it in the hands of professionals who could have any other camera, and yet... I will agree that after two years, the price is very high, but on the other hand, it shows that there is demand keeping it high, which means that its resale value will allow for a painless move to the R iii... without a hitch..

Όσο για το συγκεκριμένο σώμα για κάποιο ερωτευμένο με τη φωτογραφία (ερασιτέχνη) ξεπερνάει κάθε προσδοκία . Very strong body especially for professional use in weddings-baptisms I think nothing more is needed the only downside is Canon's very expensive RF lenses. I do not recommend the adapter especially if it is a heavy lens there are issues…

Canon R6 Mark II — A Shipwreck with an Expensive Ticket

I am an owner of the Canon R6 Mark II and in this article I will speak bluntly. Not with technical specs, numbers, and marketing promises, but with experience from real use. If you came for an enthusiastic hymn to Canon, warning: this article is not for you.
1. HDMI… small in size, huge disappointment
The small HDMI is a minus on its own. But the real disappointment starts when you use an external monitor: the camera’s LCD turns off. You lose the touch screen autofocus — one of the biggest advantages of the R6 Mark II. So? You lose your flexibility in the field.
2. “Clean” HDMI... only in theory
Canon advertises "clean HDMI," but it’s "clean" only when not recording. When you start recording, all the info overlays appear on the external signal and won’t go away no matter what. There’s no way to get a clean signal while recording. A serious blow for those of us who work professionally with external recording or live productions.
3. The high frame rate... a trap
A moment that left me speechless: While recording 4K at 50fps, I choose to try 100fps. I enter "High Frame Rate" mode and the camera switches to Full HD. I don’t mind temporarily. But when I turn it off and think I’m back to 4K — surprise! The camera remains at Full HD 50fps without any notification. You ruin footage without realizing it.
4. MOV then (5D Mark III), MP4 now — seriously?
As a former owner of the Canon 5D Mark III, I know what file quality means. The Mark III recorded in MOV. Quality, heavy files, professional. The R6 Mark II in MP4. Compressed, cheap-feeling. Unacceptable for a camera in this category.
5. The viewfinder is not for 2025
Feeling... blurry. A soft image. Our eyes are now used to high-resolution EVFs. Not here, though. It doesn’t inspire confidence for shooting, doesn’t help you be sure of the result.
6. The same old menu — 12 years behind
Canon shows it hasn’t made real progress. The R6 II’s menu is about 85% the same as the 5D Mark III. Meanwhile, Sony offers absolute customization: you tweak image, colors, black levels, knee, saturation — everything. Canon, nothing. No inspiration, no freedom.
7. Canon became the old Sony and Sony the old Canon
It’s reality. Canon follows a philosophy of locked features, while Sony has spread its wings. Professionals buy Canon only for the old EF lenses they own. But that’s no reason to stay behind. A friend of mine who wanted the R6 II tried mine for a week and told me: "You saved me. It’s a disappointment."
8. And a dose of irony to close...
With the same Canon EF lenses, the R6 II takes photos that... are unwatchable. In contrast, the Sony A7 III with a Metabones adapter, with the same lenses, delivers images that are poetry.
Final verdict
For me, the Canon R6 Mark II is not just a failed product. It’s a shipwreck that clearly shows Canon is betting on its name and not on substance. If you want quality, flexibility, and respect for the user: Sony all the way.

1. HDMI… μικρό στο μέγεθος, τεράστια η απογοήτευση
Το μικρό HDMI είναι από μόνο του ένα μείον. Αλλά η πραγματική απογοήτευση ξεκινά όταν χρησιμοποιείς εξωτερικό μόνιτορ: το LCD της μηχανής σβήνει. Χάνεις τη δυνατότητα του touch screen autofocus — ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα πλεονεκτήματα της R6 Mark II. Άρα; Χάνεις την ευελιξία σου στο πεδίο.
2. “Καθαρό” HDMI... μόνο στη θεωρία
Η Canon διαφημίζει "clean HDMI", όμως είναι "καθαρό" μόνο όταν δεν γράφει. Όταν ξεκινήσει η εγγραφή, όλα τα info overlays εμφανίζονται στο εξωτερικό σήμα και δεν φεύγουν με τίποτα. Δεν υπάρχει τρόπος να πάρεις καθαρό σήμα ενώ γράφει. Ένα σοβαρό πλήγμα για όσους δουλεύουμε επαγγελματικά με εξωτερικές εγγραφές ή live παραγωγές.
3. Το high frame rate... παγίδα
Ένα στιγμιότυπο που με άφησε άφωνο: Ενώ γράφω 4K στα 50fps, επιλέγω να δοκιμάσω 100fps. Μπαίνω σε "High Frame Rate" mode και η μηχανή γυρίζει σε Full HD. Δεν με πειράζει προσωρινά. Όμως, όταν το απενεργοποιώ και νομίζω ότι επέστρεψα σε 4K — έκπληξη! Η μηχανή παραμένει σε Full HD 50fps χωρίς καμία ειδοποίηση. Καταστρέφεις footage χωρίς να το καταλάβεις.
4. MOV τότε (5D Mark iii), MP4 τώρα — μα σοβαρά;
Ως πρώην κάτοχος της Canon 5D Mark III, ξέρω τι σημαίνει ποιότητα στο αρχείο. Η Mark III έγραφε σε MOV. Ποιοτικά, βαριά αρχεία, επαγγελματικά. Η R6 Mark II σε MP4. Συμπιεσμένο, φτηνό στην αίσθηση. Απαράδεκτο για μηχανή σε αυτή την κατηγορία.
5. Το viewfinder δεν είναι για το 2025
Aίσθηση... ασάφειας. Μια εικόνα soft. Τα μάτια μας έχουν πλέον συνηθίσει σε υψηλής ανάλυσης EVFs. Όχι όμως εδώ. Δεν εμπνέει εμπιστοσύνη για τη λήψη, δεν σε βοηθά να είσαι σίγουρος για το αποτέλεσμα.
6. Το ίδιο παλιό μενού — 12 χρόνια πίσω
Η Canon δείχνει ότι δεν έχει κάνει ουσιαστική πρόοδο. Το μενού της R6 II είναι κατά 85% ίδιο με εκείνο της 5D Mark III. Την ίδια ώρα, η Sony προσφέρει απόλυτη παραμετροποίηση: πειράζεις εικόνα, χρώματα, black levels, knee, saturation — τα πάντα. Η Canon, τίποτα. Καμία έμπνευση, καμία ελευθερία.
7. Η Canon έγινε η παλιά Sony και η Sony η παλιά Canon
Είναι πραγματικότητα. Η Canon ακολουθεί μια φιλοσοφία κλειδωμένων δυνατοτήτων, ενώ η Sony έχει ανοίξει τα φτερά της. Οι επαγγελματίες αγοράζουν Canon μόνο για τους παλιούς EF φακούς που έχουν. Αλλά αυτό δεν είναι λόγος να μείνεις πίσω. Ένας φίλος μου που ήθελε R6 II, δοκίμασε τη δική μου για μια εβδομάδα και μου είπε: «Με έσωσες. Είναι απογοήτευση.»
8. Και μια δόση ειρωνείας για το τέλος...
Με τους ίδιους φακούς Canon EF, η R6 II βγάζει φωτογραφίες που... δεν βλέπονται. Αντίθετα, η Sony A7 III με Metabones αντάπτορα, με τους ίδιους φακούς, αποδίδει εικόνα που είναι ποίημα.
Τελικός απολογισμός
Η Canon R6 Mark II για εμένα δεν είναι απλώς ένα αποτυχημένο προϊόν. Είναι ένα ναυάγιο που δείχνει ξεκάθαρα πως η Canon ποντάρει στο όνομά της και όχι στην ουσία. Αν θέλεις ποιότητα, ευελιξία και σεβασμό στον χρήστη: Sony και ξερό ψωμί.
I bought the Canon EOS R6 II with high hopes that it would be the ultimate camera for my needs. In the end, I kept it for less than a month and sold it, as my experience with it was filled with disappointments.
The image quality is clearly good, with excellent performance in low light, but the overall package does not justify its price. The autofocus system is fast, but not as reliable as advertised, especially in more demanding conditions. I also found the menu and the overall operation of the camera quite complicated, resulting in me wasting time on settings instead of focusing on shooting.
One of the biggest problems for me was the weight and size, especially when combined with RF lenses. The camera is simply too bulky to be enjoyable to use for everyday or travel shots. Additionally, the battery performance was not up to my expectations, especially for a mirrorless camera in this category.
After being disappointed by the Canon R6 II, I decided to sell it and try the Fujifilm X-T5, thinking that perhaps I would find the balance there. However, I faced new disappointments there as well.
Ultimately, I ended up with the OM System OM-5, and I admit it was the most pleasant surprise. A camera that doesn't catch your eye at first glance, but offers portability, reliability, excellent stabilization, and image quality that competes with much more expensive options. The OM-5 combines everything I was looking for in a camera, without having to carry weight or pay extra for features I don't use.
The Canon EOS R6 II is a powerful camera for specific needs, but for me, it failed to find its place in my gear. If you are looking for something versatile, user-friendly, and reliable, look elsewhere; perhaps the OM-5 is what you need!
Αγόρασα την Canon EOS R6 II με πολλές ελπίδες ότι θα ήταν η απόλυτη μηχανή για τις ανάγκες μου. Τελικά, την κράτησα λιγότερο από ένα μήνα και την πούλησα, καθώς η εμπειρία μου μαζί της ήταν γεμάτη απογοητεύσεις.
Η ποιότητα εικόνας της είναι σαφώς καλή, με εξαιρετικές αποδόσεις σε χαμηλό φωτισμό, αλλά το συνολικό πακέτο δεν δικαιολογεί την τιμή της. Το σύστημα αυτόματης εστίασης είναι γρήγορο, αλλά όχι τόσο αξιόπιστο όσο διαφημίζεται, ιδιαίτερα σε πιο απαιτητικές συνθήκες. Επίσης, βρήκα το μενού και τη συνολική λειτουργία της μηχανής αρκετά περίπλοκα, με αποτέλεσμα να χάνω χρόνο στις ρυθμίσεις αντί να εστιάζω στη φωτογράφιση.
Ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα προβλήματα για μένα ήταν το βάρος και το μέγεθος, ειδικά όταν συνδυάζεται με τους φακούς RF. Η μηχανή είναι απλώς υπερβολικά ογκώδης για να είναι ευχάριστη στη χρήση σε καθημερινές ή ταξιδιωτικές λήψεις. Επιπλέον, η απόδοση της μπαταρίας δεν ήταν αντάξια των προσδοκιών μου, ειδικά για μια mirrorless μηχανή αυτής της κατηγορίας.
Αφού απογοητεύτηκα από την Canon R6 II, αποφάσισα να την πουλήσω και να δοκιμάσω την Fujifilm X-T5, νομίζοντας ότι ίσως εκεί θα βρω την ισορροπία. Και εκεί, όμως, ήρθα αντιμέτωπος με νέες απογοητεύσεις.
Τελικά, κατέληξα στην OM System OM-5, και ομολογώ ότι ήταν η πιο ευχάριστη έκπληξη. Μια μηχανή που δεν σου γεμίζει το μάτι με την πρώτη ματιά, αλλά προσφέρει φορητότητα, αξιοπιστία, εξαιρετική σταθεροποίηση και ποιότητα εικόνας που ανταγωνίζεται πολύ ακριβότερες επιλογές. Η OM-5 συνδυάζει όλα όσα έψαχνα σε μια μηχανή, χωρίς να κουβαλάω βάρος ή να πληρώνω υπερβολές για λειτουργίες που δεν χρησιμοποιώ.
Η Canon EOS R6 II είναι μια ισχυρή μηχανή για συγκεκριμένες ανάγκες, αλλά για μένα δεν κατάφερε να βρει τη θέση της στον εξοπλισμό μου. Αν ψάχνετε για κάτι ευέλικτο, εύχρηστο και αξιόπιστο, κοιτάξτε αλλού ίσως η OM-5 είναι αυτό που χρειάζεστε!
A product among the few. Perfect quality body but they raised the price by €1000 on the R6 ii without any explanation. In the rest of the world, the body is under 2 grand..It is what it is.

Purchased for professional use a year ago, and since then it has gone for service 2 times, please note. Good quality materials, but it seems to lack in durable mechanical parts compared to the High End series. The price is overrated. An open, honest approach to reviews would not only enhance the company's credibility but could also help consumers make more informed and stronger choices.
Αγοράστηκε για επαγγελματική χρήση πριν από ένα χρόνο, και έκτοτε έχει πάει για σέρβις 2 φορές, κλείστρο παρακαλώ. καλή ποιότητα υλικών , αλλά φαίνεται να υστερεί σε ανθεκτικά μηχανικά μέρη σε σχέση με την High End σειρα. Η τιμή είναι υπερεκτιμημένη.

Coming from the classic R and RP, the leap was quite big.
Absolutely no complaints about the construction, the camera is comfortable to hold and doesn't tire the hand.
The photos it takes, even with old EF lenses, are incredibly clear and the autofocus is truly amazing.
As for video, the camera shoots very clean 4K and it's important that it doesn't crop at 60fps.
The only negatives for me are the micro HDMI, which is garbage, and I wonder why companies still use it, and the camera's log profile, which is quite good and honest compared to older Canon models in its category. I think Canon should have a similar log to the C log 2, if not the same, which would be a bit more flexible than the C log 3. Overall, the camera is very reliable, I use it professionally and it hasn't disappointed me in any of my projects!
If you're a photographer, don't think twice, especially if you're already in the Canon system!
If you're a videographer and you're serious about it, go for the Canon Cine series or switch to another brand, although at this price point, you won't find much better elsewhere. However, if you're shooting content for YouTube or social media, or even for jobs that require a bit of video and you're not shooting a film, etc., the camera is perfect for those purposes!

Ερχόμενος από την κλασική R και RP το άλμα ήταν αρκετά μεγάλο.
Κανένα απολύτως παράπονο στο κατασκευαστικό κομμάτι η μηχανή είναι άνετη στο κράτημα και δεν κουράζει το χέρι.
Οι φωτογραφίες που τραβάει ακόμα και με παλιούς ef φακους ειναι απιστευτα ευκρινεις και το autofocus τα σπαει πραγματικα.
Οσον αφορα το βιντεο η μηχανη τραβαει πολυ καθαρο 4κ και σημαντικο που δεν κανει κροπ στα 60fps.
.Τα μονο αρνητικα της μηχανης για εμενα εναι το micro hdmi το οποιο ειναι για τα σκουπιδια και απορω γιατι το χρησιμοποιουν οι εταιριες ακομα και το log προφιλ της καμερας ενω ειναι αρκετα καλο και τιμιο σε σχεση με παλιοτερες Canon της κατηγοριας νομιζω η Canon θα επρεπε να εχει ενα παρομοιο log με το c log 2 αν οχι το ιδιο το οποιο να ειναι λιγο πιο ευελικτο απο το c log 3. Γενικα η μηχανη ειναι τιμιοτατη την χρησιμοποιω επαγγελματικα και δεν με εχει απογοητευσει σε κανενα προτζεκτ μου!!!
Αν είσαι φωτογράφος μην το σκέφτεσαι λεπτό ειδικά αν είσαι από canon συτημα!!!
Αν είσαι βιντεογραφος και το πας σοβαρα να πας σε Cine σειρά της Canon η αλλαξε εταιρια αν και σε αυτη την τιμη δεν θα βρεις πολυ καλυτερα σε καμια αλλη. Αν όμως τραβάς content για YouTube Social ακομα και σε δουλειες που χρειαζεται λιγο βιντεο και δεν γυρνας ταινια κλπ η κάμερα είναι φουλ τουμπανη γιαυτα!
It is a very good camera that delivers on its promises. I know three professional photographers, reporters, and wedding photographers who are super satisfied. I won't hide from you that I was a little disappointed with the grip, especially with large lenses like the 70-200. Having been accustomed to the 5D (mk2 mk3 mk4) and the R6 mk2 for quite a few years, it seems to me like an amateur camera. Not only in terms of build quality but also in its menus. It is clear that Canon with this model is targeting a wider audience, from the knowledgeable to the beginner blogger. Despite my disappointment, I must note the excellent video quality, the amazing performance at high ISOs, and of course, the very good autofocus.
Είναι μια πολύ καλή μηχανή, που ότι υπόσχεται το κάνει. Γνωρίζω τρεις επαγγελματίες φωτογράφους, ρεπόρτερ αλλά και φωτογράφους γάμων που είναι σούπερ ευχαριστημένοι. Εγώ δε σας κρύβω ότι απογοητεύτηκα λίγο από την αίσθηση στο κράτημα ειδικά με μεγάλους φακούς πχ 70-200 . Μαθημένος αρκετά χρόνια στις 5D (mk2 mk3 mk4) η R6 mk2, Μου φαίνεται σαν μια ερασιτεχνική μηχανή Όχι μόνο στην ποιότητα κατασκευής αλλά και στα μενού της. Είναι ξεκάθαρο ότι η Canon με αυτό το μοντέλο απευθύνεται σε ένα διευρυμένο κοινό απο τον γνώστη έως τον πρωτάρη blogger. Πέραν την απογοήτευση μου, να σημειώσω το εξαιρετικό βίντεο, την φοβερή απόδοση σε υψηλά ISO. Και φυσικά το πάρα πολύ καλό AF.
Much faster compared to the RP that I now use as a backup. To fit well in the hand (at least in mine), it needs a battery grip. Top image quality.
Πολυ πιο γρήγορη σε σχέση με την RP που έχω σαν βοηθητική πλέον. Για να κάτσει καλά στο χέρι (στο δικό μου τουλάχιστον) θέλει battery grip. Κορυφαία ποιότητα εικόνας.
It seems quite plastic compared to the EOS R and definitely not as sturdy, but in terms of functions it is perfect. It's excellent that it has a separate menu for video as soon as you switch the relevant dial. A negative is that the IBIS does not work with ADAPTED lenses in combination with the lens IS. Also, the free version of DaVinci does not open Log video
φαινεται αρκετα πλαστικη σε σχεση με την eos R καιβσιγουρα οχι τοσο στιβαρη, αλλα σε λειτπυργιες ειναι τέλεια. αψογο το οτι εχει μενου ξεχωριστο για βιντεο με το που γυρνας τοννσχετικο διαλοπτη. αρνητικο τπ οτι το IBIS δεν λειτουργει σε ADAPTED φακους συνδυαστικα με το IS του φακου. και το Log video δεν το ανοιγει η free εκδοση του DaVinci

In video, the Canon records 4K without crop, clean and sharp, and it doesn't overheat after ten minutes. Meanwhile, the Sonys heat up as if they're baking a pie inside. And the menus? Don't even get me started... you need a diploma to change the white balance. With Canon, you go in, change it, and continue. The R6 II is a camera that works, that lets you create. The Sonys are cameras that make you struggle with buttons and settings until you forget why you wanted to shoot in the first place. If you want an image with soul and a machine that doesn't annoy you, Canon, my friend. If you want to search on YouTube how to change the ISO, get a Sony.
παιδια, η Canon R6 II ειναι απλα αλλου. Ολα δουλευουν οπως πρεπει, χωρις να σε τρελαινει με μενουδες και κολληματα. Η εικονα της ειναι ζεστη, φυσικη, με ζωη μεσα της, οχι σαν κατι Sony που βγαζουν χρωματα ψυχρα, λες και τραβηξαν μεσα σε ψυγειο. Το autofocus της Canon κολλαει στο ματι και δεν το χανει ποτε, ενω οι αλλες ψαχνουν ακομα να καταλαβουν τι τραβανε.Στο βιντεο, η Canon γραφει 4K χωρις crop, καθαρα και sharp, και δεν καιγεται μετα απο δεκα λεπτα. Οι Sony στο μεταξυ ζεσταινονται λες και ψηνουν μπουγατσα μεσα τους. Και τα μενου; Μην το συζηταμε... θελεις διπλωμα για να αλλαξεις white balance. Στην Canon μπαινεις, το αλλαζεις, συνεχιζεις.Η R6 II ειναι καμερα που δουλευει, που σε αφηνει να δημιουργησεις. Οι Sony ειναι καμερες που σε κανουν να παλευεις με κουμπια και ρυθμισεις μεχρι να ξεχασεις γιατι ηθελες να τραβηξεις. Αν θες εικονα με ψυχη και μηχανη που δεν σε εκνευριζει, Canon φιλε. Αν θες να ψαχνεις στο YouTube πως αλλαζει ISO, παρε Sony.
When you start in the magical world of photography, the first thing you learn is that you choose lenses first and then the body. This principle makes Canon the only way to go, as it offers lenses that other companies are still trying to make through partnerships and alchemy. As for this particular body, for someone in love with photography (an amateur), it exceeds every expectation. Very often, I see it in the hands of professionals who could have any other camera, and yet... I will agree that after two years, the price is very high, but on the other hand, it shows that there is demand keeping it high, which means that its resale value will allow for a painless move to the R iii... without a hitch..
Όταν ξεκινάς στο μαγικό χώρο της φωτογραφίας το πρώτο πράγμα που μαθαίνεις είναι ότι πρώτα επιλέγεις φακούς και μετά σώμα αυτό σαν αρχή κάνει την Canon μονόδρομο μιας και διαθέτει φακούς που άλλες εταιρείες ακόμα το προσπαθούν να φτιάξουν με συμπράξεις και αλχημείες. Όσο για το συγκεκριμένο σώμα για κάποιο ερωτευμένο με τη φωτογραφία (ερασιτέχνη) ξεπερνάει κάθε προσδοκία . Πολύ συχνά την βλέπω και σε χέρια επαγγελματιών που θα μπορούσαν να έχουν οποιαδήποτε άλλη και όμως… θα συμφωνήσω ότι μετά από δύο χρόνια η τιμή είναι πολύ υψηλή από την άλλη πάλι δείχνει ότι υπάρχει ζήτηση που την κρατά ψηλά και αυτό συνεπάγεται ότι η μεταπώληση της αξία θα επιτρέψει την αναίμακτη μετακίνηση στην R iii … χωρίς παντόφλα …..)
After 1 year of use I can say that it is an excellent camera for all purposes. The advantages are many and well-known. I will focus on the disadvantages:
The battery lasts about 3/7 less than a typical DSLR. Here Canon needs to do much more to reach the old standards.
The MP could be 26-28. The 24 is an improvement over the 20 of the mk1, but no one says no to a bit more.
An improvement in AF, especially in product photography, would be welcome.
Of course, compatibility with 3rd party lenses is essential. This concerns Canon in general. Both at the mount level and at the software level. The enemy of good is better.
Μετά από 1 χρόνο χρήσης μπορώ να πω ότι είναι μια εξαιρετική κάμερα για όλες τις χρήσεις. Τα πλεονεκτήματα είναι πολλά και γνωστά. Θα εστιάσω στα μειονεκτήματα:
Η μπαταρία κρατάει κατά 3/7 λιγότερο από μια τυπική DSLR. Εδώ η Canon πρέπει να κάνει πολλά περισσότερα για να φτάσει τα παλιά standard.
Τα MP θα μπορούσαν να είναι 26-28. Τα 24 είναι μια βελτίωση από τα 20 της mk1, αλλά κανείς δεν λέει όχι σε κάτι παραπάνω.
Μια βελτίωση στο AF, ειδικά σε προϊοντικές φωτογραφίσεις θα ήταν ευπρόσδεκτη.
Φυσικά η συμβατότητα με 3d party φακούς είναι κάτι απαραίτητο. Αυτό αφορά την Canon γενικότερα. Και σε επίπεδο mount αλλά και σε επίπεδο software. Εχθρός του καλού το καλύτερο.
