However, until we got to today, I had to replace the original stove with two others because they were defective (confirmed by their own service). This was obviously my own bad luck, but I mention it because it might mean something.

    Unacceptable stove. Very cheap construction made in Turkey. As others have mentioned, it doesn't hold the flame. I bought it solely for its fan. It can't even go to the second setting without help from a lighter. I requested a replacement because not only is it impossible to light, but the flame also goes out on its own. So you can understand how dangerous that is. Just stay away.
