The fully modernized ULTIMA PRE 2 is designed to complement high-end stereo systems and represents the best engineering from Chord Electronics, both inside and out. As a preamplifier should, the ULTIMA PRE 2 adds nothing to the original signal and maintains its fidelity without coloration. This is due to our latest advancements in AC power supply design, developed from aerospace technologies, and the ultra-low noise proprietary circuit design, which is carefully shielded and equipped with top-tier components. As a result, the ULTIMA PRE 2 is able to achieve an unparalleled noise performance of -130dB, meaning your source will always sound as it is and nothing else.

In terms of connectivity, the ULTIMA PRE 2 covers all hi-fi systems (and more!). Featuring eight inputs, four stereo XLR for balanced connections and another four RCA for unbalanced connections, each of which can be set to gain and selected individually. For outputs, there is a pair of stereo outputs via XLR or RCA, to accommodate a single stereo amplifier, such as the ULTIMA 5 or a pair of monoblocks, such as the ULTIMA 3s. Naturally, connections for headphones are also made available, with the addition of a high-resolution 6.35mm on the front side.

Regarding system activation (allowing simultaneous startup of connected equipment with a single button press), the ULTIMA PRE 2 is equipped with three outputs which should be more than sufficient for most systems.
