Given that:
It is my first console (after the Wii back in 2008)
My only contact with gaming is telling my husband to turn it off so we can go to sleep.
I have never touched a joystick in my life.

It is the best choice I could have made. The truth is I had been looking at the PS5 for a while because I thought I would also like to play something since I spend many hours alone and I would like to be able to play something with my husband. The computer didn't suit me because I usually hang out on the couch.
I had been thinking about it for a long time because no option really fit my needs.
In the end, I stumbled upon the Nintendo and when I saw that it connects to the TV, it took me 2 minutes to buy it.

So far:
It connects perfectly to the TV and with 2 controllers we play endless hours of It Takes Two. You forget that it's a handheld console.
I take it with me to bed and play Super Mario Deluxe.
I take it to another house we go to on weekends and play there too.
The battery is so good that in the first days I thought I had charged it but in the end the power strip was off and I hadn't noticed and the battery lasted perfectly.

Very strong sound if you like to listen at full volume.
It also supports headphones.
The screen is very nice, vibrant colors and touch screen.
Nice feel to its buttons.

The only negative thing I would say is that it is a bit heavy and large and because I have small hands I find it a bit difficult to hold but I'm getting used to it slowly. Also, I usually play on the TV.

There are nice cases on Shein if you want to change the color.

The reason I bought it is for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the portability, and of course, Nintendo's exclusive games.
And as a second console after the PS5/Xbox, it's just what I needed.
It's the second home console from Nintendo that I've bought, after many years.
The first one was the GameCube (I still have it).
Of course, I also had some portable consoles (Game Boy, Game Boy Color).
For someone who is buying a Nintendo Switch for the first time like me, the OLED is the best choice.
The colors are impressive in handheld mode.
I recommend the bundle with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because it's worth it compared to buying the Switch OLED without a game.
And the price difference is small.
It also includes a 3-month online subscription.
Also, in handheld mode, I recommend buying the Hori Split Pad Pro Controller because it has better grip and larger buttons than the Joy-Con Controllers.
Just like in TV Mode, the Switch Pro Controller.
The drawbacks are the prices for Nintendo's exclusive games.
And the price of the console could be better because it doesn't have better specs apart from the OLED screen

The Switch was mainly purchased for the kids to detach them from mobile games. In the end, we all ended up playing. It has games for all ages, and some of them are older well-known titles from PC or PS/Xbox. You can't play the latest games from the major consoles because the Switch's hardware is outdated. But Nintendo's games are all very nice and entertaining, as well as some older titles like Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands 3, Bioshock: The Collection, and No Man's Sky. Apart from the games, the great advantage is that the device is portable, lightweight, with a long-lasting battery, and an OLED screen with amazing colors. It can also be connected to the TV via a dock, and the left/right controllers can be detached from the device to play multiplayer with another person. Overall, its flexibility is great, and you can do almost anything. Please note that it is strongly rumored that a new Switch 2 console will be released in the coming months, which will have upgraded hardware and a wider range of games compared to PC/PS/Xbox.

The short version:
Incredible screen, huge game catalog, plug n play convenience, good battery life, buy it without hesitation if you like Nintendo games, a Bluetooth controller or alternative joycons like the Hori Split Pad may be needed for extended use.

The less short version:
It's 2024. If you don't already have a Switch, you might be thinking it's too late, maybe we should wait for the Switch 2, maybe we should get a more powerful PS5 or a handheld PC with the same money. All of the above are valid considerations, but in reality, if you want to play Nintendo games, then the Switch OLED is the best possible choice. Many handheld PCs like the Steam Deck or ROG Ally can provide satisfactory emulation of the Switch and more, but they lack many of the features that make Nintendo consoles unique (Amiibo, joycon, motion controls, etc.), but most importantly, they lack the ease with which you can dock the Switch and immediately play from your couch, or detach the joycons and hand one to the person next to you for a Mario Kart race. Certainly, the handheld and gaming market has changed dramatically during the lifespan of the Switch (handheld PCs, incredible retro handhelds from China, 9th generation consoles, etc.), but its fantastic screen, combined with satisfactory battery life and an endless catalog of games for every taste, often discounted on the eShop (check out DekuDeals), keep it fresh to this day. Buy the cheapest OLED model you can find and invest the extra money in a good case, an SD card, and a Bluetooth controller, either the Nintendo PRO or something from 8bitdo. With one console, you can play alone or with friends, at home or on the go.
As for games, apart from Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, which are Nintendo exclusives, there are also some of the greatest games from other companies, such as Final Fantasy, Persona, Diablo, Witcher, Skyrim, Fifa, NBA2K, and of course, countless titles from independent developers like Hades, Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley, etc. The options are endless, especially if you buy digitally. Most new titles are missing due to the console's capabilities, but there are always exceptions, like Hogwarts Legacy.
On the negative side, apart from the lower resolution graphics, which for me is the least important aspect of a game, I have to mention the cost of the console itself and Nintendo's games. It will take some searching to find them at relatively good prices. Also, for those with larger hands or those who want to play for longer hours in handheld mode, the joycons may be a bit uncomfortable, especially if you play fighting games, then you will need something with a proper d-pad and perhaps more comfortable. Finally, I have to mention that in order to play online (not free-to-play games), save your saves to the cloud, and use Nintendo's emulators (SNES, N64, etc.), you will need a subscription, which is low and not necessary for most people (20 euros per year), but it is an additional cost.
And finally, if you want an extra opinion, buy the console that you believe you will play more depending on your daily life and needs. "The 'best' can be different for everyone."

Today, I received my new Game Console in the morning................. (the previous one was the "Nintendo 3DS XL" which I acquired through Ebay, and I don't plan on selling it ever, as I didn't buy it to sell it when I get bored of it)
.................as a fan of the Japanese "Nintendo" since I was a child.
I am amazed.
It feels like I got the successor to the "Sony PSP," on a larger scale & screen.
Of course, it doesn't have a "Factory Protective Membrane" on the screen, which is very necessary... (you never know when it might accidentally fall on the ground).
Although I will soon order a "Protective Membrane."
In any case:
I had to create an account through my Desktop PC, on the "Nintendo" website first, in order to activate the so-called "Nintendo eShop" included in the device, for example, for new game purchases (download to the memory card, if inserted), the whole process took me 5-10 minutes, and finally, everything is fine.
The games, of course, are quite expensive, although I don't like all the game titles, only specific ones (like all those that include Super Mario & Luigi).
I may have bought this version of the game console "Without Games" in the package, but I will soon start buying those specific games that I have already targeted (because I don't like all the games offered by Nintendo for the "Switch OLED").
The device's menu for the initial setup of the game console as its first use is very easy.
I connected the Game Console to my Wi-Fi, performed the "Firmware Update," and that's it.

ATTENTION:
The only drawback I could identify is with the two controllers (Right & Left).
At first, when I first held them in my hands, I thought the Joysticks (not the buttons) were like used. Worn out, so to speak. They are not rigid in their movements, but rather very soft.
To the point where you might think they might easily break at some point in the future, due to their very delicate softness, as if they were placed in water.
But then you realize that they were manufactured that way by the factory. So, there's no need to worry.
Just the two Joystick controllers require good handling to never break.
No crazy-fast movements or disturbances to the device, and overall good behavior towards them.

* In the end, this Game Console is worth its money, although I consider it a bit pricey, but as I said:
It is a device that you acquire to keep it as if you were a child, and until you grow up, it will eventually have great "Collectible Value."

** The only thing I regret today is that as a child, I didn't take care to keep the first Nintendo devices, the Game and Watch, where I had many, black and white ones, but collectible today, and they no longer exist, did I lose them? Were they destroyed? I don't know anymore.
Although I made sure to buy the "Nintendo Game and Watch Super Mario Bros" two years ago, and that made me feel like I got them all back.
The only device I no longer have from Nintendo in my collection is just the "Game Cube."
