The Proteas Filter EW-071-0116 water softener has an electronic metered control head and a built-in bypass for adjusting the desired water hardness. It is programmed via an LCD screen in English, and resin regeneration is based on the volume of water consumed.

The Purolite resin is housed in a fiberglass tank and absorbs the salts. Brine from the brine tank rinses the resin, preparing it for reuse. The unit is installed on the main water supply and requires connections to a drain and an electrical outlet.
