The biggest issue, however, is with streaming applications. I tried to use COSMOTE TV, but it never worked. Even though I did a factory reset, downloaded the app directly from the Play Store, and set it up from scratch without any tweaks, the app kept showing a message that the device is modified.
It turned out that the X98 has Widevine L3, something that is not clearly stated in the description, and this means that many official streaming services simply do not work. It was also delivered to me already "set up," which I found strange.
Overall, it might be okay for simple use like YouTube, but I do not recommend it if someone wants a serious and reliable Android TV box for streaming.
