Description

Description

The Sony MDR-7506 headphones are primarily aimed at professional sound engineers and musicians who seek high-quality headphones for professional use. They are widely used in the music and sound industry for mixing and mastering in the studio, as they provide accuracy in sound reproduction and have a very good response across the entire frequency spectrum. Additionally, they can be used by professional photographers and videographers for sound editing in the studio or in outdoor environments.

Professional Sound

A neodymium magnet provides excellent power handling and the 40mm drivers deliver high-quality sound, with a wide frequency response of 10 Hz - 20 kHz.

Enjoy crystal-clear highs, distinct mids, and extended lows, for accurate monitoring.

Comfort and Isolation

The MDR-7506 features a closed-back design, which provides comfort and excellent reduction of external noise. Comfort is further enhanced by the rich padding on the headband.

A coiled 1.2-meter cable provides more than enough slack to work in a studio without removing the headphones, whether you are the performer, the engineer, or both.

The included Stereo UniMatch plug allows for use in both 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch applications, and a soft case is included with the headphones for protective storage - fold them and store them safely.

Excellent headphones! Compared to the BeyerDynamic dt770 I had, they are very comfortable and not as warm to wear. Also quite small in size when folded in

They are very good headphones. Their characteristic is the emphasized highs. But in general, they are neutral. I use them for listening to music, not for the studio.

The only thing I will say to help is that one of the world's biggest mixing-mastering engineers, Andrew Scheps, works with these headphones (main tool) for years and also a top DJ (Lee Burridge). I have the Focal MG Clear Pro (1360+ € headphones) and I have worked with Audeze LCD X, HD Plus 25 Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic DTPRO 990 and 770 (excellent), HD 660 Sennheiser, Presonus, AKG K240, Austrian Audio Hi-X65, etc.

These Sony headphones are great, just like the 770 for low-cost headphones. I work hours on my laptop because I travel often. Whatever I do in the studio on projects works with the Sony headphones, and the work I have to do in the studio is almost nothing. I should add that in the studio I work with Focal Trio 6 monitors (6000€ speakers) and with a Metric H card - 4.500€, in a 100% soundproofed space. I won't say they are better than the Focal MG, but I won't take such expensive open-back headphones on a trip with me. The Sony headphones are the NS10 of headphones.

In the world of studio headphones, they are not considered very flat. At $150 on sale, they are not worth it for studio use, the dt 770 pro are much flatter and have a wider soundstage. Overall, these headphones have a bit more bass and a bit more treble. I would only recommend them to someone who wants them for more general use (listening to music, movies, games)

They are good studio headphones, meaning they have a flat sound.

They are not worth their money, they have been around for many years now, but the only reason they gained fame was because of their low price (which was 40-60 euros), I suppose because they were overlooked due to their appearance and zero marketing. In other words, they were like the audiotechnica m50x, but outdated. THIS is what made them popular and then YouTubers brought them to light and even the general public became aware of them, and now they have 100+...

It doesn't make much sense, they are not that bad and not good either (for the money they used to cost, 40-60 euros, they were okay but not now). The construction is not great, but the sound is good, okay, but for the same amount of money, you can find others with equally good sound and nicer design + additional features.

Very good headphones, I have been using them for almost 2 years now, and they are truly the best I have tried for their price. Very comfortable in the ears even after several hours, with a long spiral cable that gives you distance but is not huge when it is not stretched. Very good bass, midrange, and treble.

These headphones are ideal for someone who wants to listen to music in high sound quality without spending too much money. They are not for someone who settles for lower quality headphones, nor for the audiophile who wants absolute clarity in sound. In the latter case, the prices are much higher, which is why these specific headphones are considered budget headphones.

Personally, I bought them after doing some research online from abroad at a price of 115 euros. The bass is very deep (not "boomy" or muddy), the midrange is satisfactory, and the highs are slightly more subdued than they should be - overall, however, the sound is excellent. The construction is sturdy and the cable is thick enough to last for a long time (unlike my previous headphones, where the cable broke twice).

For anyone interested, it is also worth looking at the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones, which are available at a similar price and sound quality.
