The main focus of this study is to investigate the potential of adolescents to become competent speakers of a second language, which, due to its widespread use in our country, is usually English.

To reach certain conclusions about this potential, we aimed to examine the relationship between the second or foreign language and the first or mother tongue, and to determine whether acquiring the second language is facilitated naturally or hindered during the learning process due to the pre-existing first language.
