This scissor is made of Japanese 440C steel, which is a martensitic stainless steel with a high chromium and carbon content. It provides high resistance to wear and oxidation in wet environments.

Thanks to its hardness close to 60 HRC, it allows good edge retention for a longer period with a hardness between 59 and 61 HRC.
