Beautiful edition of the classic tale, A Christmas Carol.
Ebenezer Scrooge is a miserly and malevolent old man. He treats family, associates, and strangers with disdain. However, on Christmas Eve, he receives a visit from the ghost of his deceased partner, Jacob Marley. Marley warns Scrooge that unless he learns to be less greedy and selfish, he will be condemned to roam the Earth burdened with heavy chains, just like himself.
Marley tells him that three spirits will visit him. First, the Ghost of Christmas Past visits him and shows him his own past Christmases, including the Christmas when his fiancée left him because of his obsession with money.
Second, the Ghost of Christmas Present shows him all the joy that takes place at various celebrations in the city. Finally, the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come shows him what will happen after his death, and Scrooge is horrified to find that everyone will celebrate his passing.
Desperate, Scrooge pleads for another chance and suddenly wakes up in his bed. From then on, he will honor the spirit of Christmas with kindness, generosity, and warmth.
A classic Christmas story that will be read every year.
