Users rate this transceiver positively as good value for money, mainly praising its clear reception and transmission and its powerful, high-quality speaker. They also mention easy programming, useful features, and good performance on outings, in open areas, and for professional use. However, some report interference in environments with other transmissions, while there are isolated complaints about speaker failure or limited battery life.
because it has 2 bands and I assume it is missing some filter, it occasionally presents annoying interference when there are transmissions of other frequencies around it.. (not necessarily from another wireless device)
I use it on a professional vessel when entering and leaving the port for communication with the port authority. For what I need it for, it is excellent.
First purchase in 2018, it endured water-moisture-dives, black dog, it worked normally, I bought a second one just in case production stops!
For the price of €18, excellent. It shows good construction with a strong speaker. It is programmed very easily via chirp. Very convenient the dual PTT and the dual VFO.
The battery does not last more than 16 hours of continuous operation, whether receiving or transmitting, even on standby. I was forced to buy another battery
Quite good for the money but I had a little trouble from the store I bought it from 8w has low minimum and high adjustment this has low high only so it is 5w also as soon as I opened it to put the battery it smelled burnt cable has satisfactory transmission reception I don't know why now I know it is my first vhf-uhf but it works very well its battery is for 2 days 2000 milliampere for resistance I don't know we will see also it doesn't have a vfo Mr button doesn't bother me much it scans tones and subtones and channels frequency after so long after the bumps it took continues to work very well range battery life buttons have not faded yet use not great but just by opening the repeater at about 20 kilometers is very positive of course I also have the uv17 pro max which is great in range sound quality the only negative in that one is the bad quality battery buttons soften quite a bit as if you have it for many years that one is 10 w this is actually 8 I measured it but not on all frequencies
The ultimate value for money, better sound quality than the uv5. Its great advantage is the dual transmission button that allows you, apart from listening, to transmit on two different frequencies at will (this was the reason I chose it)
Amateur use. I bought 5 of them for my colleagues for communication. 12 kilometers measured with Google and clear reception without strong natural obstacles with its own antenna. I also had an older baofeng uv5r but this one is superior in battery life and reception. It is slightly larger in size but not bothersome. At this price, it is a one-way street for someone looking for an economical and reliable product
I have bought three of the same and I am very satisfied. They have excellent range, plenty of functions, and good build quality!
I recommend it!

I have a pair that I use for mountain excursions. I wanted to test the range, so I left one at my friend's house and took the other one in the car and drove away. I reached a distance of 7 kilometers, and the reception was very good. It should be noted that this was a test in a rural area without any natural obstacles.
The best you will find at this price. Ideal for amateur use and even more so in open field (depending on the terrain morphology). Wide frequency range. Very good sensitivity in reception. Its transmission is more than 5 watts on high while on low it is just below 1 watt. Very good and clear speaker as well as excellent reception/transmission (at reasonable distances) and battery life. Get the programming cable with the CD (it helps a lot), a second backup battery, and perhaps a larger and higher quality antenna depending on your needs. Of course, there is also a microphone available for purchase that will serve you well if you have it "permanently" installed somewhere. In terms of durability, I believe it is average in terms of construction (you get what you pay for) and certainly a case would protect it quite well, at least from falls. Do not expect effective waterproofing, so do not risk extended exposure to water. Value for money, the transmitter-receiver is much better than other models of the company (which promise around 5 watts of power).
Prefer it over the uv5r if you don't have a problem with its size... it has a better speaker and a larger battery... it's worth the 25€... it's definitely value for money

Excellent, clearly superior in terms of construction quality, ergonomics, and sound compared to the UV-5R, of which it is an evolution. With 25 euros, you get an excellent wireless device.
edit 6/20: It is used daily within the city without any problems so far. In an urban environment up to one kilometer, it has no range issues. Depending on the interference in the area, for longer distances, you may need a telescopic or simply a larger antenna, which dramatically improves communication, and this applies to all wireless devices.
