Big Nate, also known as student Nate Wright, is eleven years old, 4 feet 6 inches tall, and the rebellious creation of cartoonist Lincoln Peirce. Nate is the star of six fictional books to be published by HarperCollins, the first of which premiered on the New York Times children's bestsellers list. This Big Nate Collection gathers Peirce's Big Nate strips, which were originally published only in newspapers.

For those unfamiliar with Big Nate, think "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" combined with "Calvin and Hobbes." Nate describes himself as a genius and is a renaissance man of the sixth grade, armed only with a #2 pencil and the unwavering belief that he is destined for great things (a fortune cookie told him that).
