Ghoulia lives in Crumblings Manor with her aunt, Departina, and spends most of her time playing with Tragedy, her beloved albino greyhound. However, things are not so simple for this little living girl - all she wants is a real friend. She tries to cross the walls of the manor, but she cannot hide her pale green skin or the deep purple circles under her eyes. The other children will be afraid of her and no one will want to be her friend. But when Halloween comes, Ghoulia plans a brilliant idea. All the other ordinary children will dress up as monsters, so Ghoulia can go out into the town and be completely herself. In the end, all the children realize that Ghoulia is (almost) like them and learn that friendship can come in many forms.
