Perhaps one day we will discover extraterrestrial life, and even "intelligent" life, as many scientists argue. On the other hand, there are many arguments that suggest the search for extraterrestrial intelligence may fail. It is very likely that Earth's complex biosphere is unique. However, it is possible that our own civilization is the first, at least in our galaxy. In this case, life from Earth could, in the post-human era, spread throughout our galaxy and beyond, evolving into forms that we cannot even imagine.
If so, the first interstellar travelers from Earth would have a mission to further develop Earthly civilization and make it the leading civilization in the Universe, in the very distant future. This book aims to present to the general public scientifically accepted possible answers to the question that has occupied mankind since its appearance on Earth: "Are we alone in the Universe?". The presentation of the individual subjects is based on the latest developments in the relevant scientific fields, and this is where the originality of the book lies.
For the first time, the subject of extraterrestrial life is presented to the Greek public, along with its implications for society, religion, culture, and technology.
