I had a similar door phone-eye for many years, but (a) it didn't have wifi and sending capability and (b) it took regular AA batteries, so I decided to go for something more modern, mainly for the wifi and communication. I chose the DP2C because it offers everything I wanted at a reasonable price. Easy installation, super easy setup, although the app needed to communicate with the device 1-2 times to set it up and apply the update that was already available.

Materials and screen are average, e.g. the screen has a very small viewing angle (beyond 30-40 degrees from straight on, you can hardly see anything) and the plastics are not top quality. Overall, however, it is a very decent construction. Many settings, easy communication, personally I didn't even set up the Ezviz cloud and just put in a 32GB card and communicated with my phone via the home's wifi.

The only real problem it has, hence the minus 1 star, is the delay in motion detection, or the activation of the camera after detection. Whatever the cause, it misses the first 2-3 seconds of movement, which may be a detail, but it is characteristic of the device. A similar delay exists in the interaction with the device for live playback (to see live what is happening) while it is slightly better in the conversation with the visitor.

The installation was very easy. It works properly and I get a notification whenever someone stands in front of the door. If someone rings my doorbell (the one integrated into the device), I can speak to them via video call even if I am not at home. I can also remotely talk to someone standing in front of my door even if they haven't pressed the doorbell integrated into the device. The night vision is also very good. Battery consumption is about 1 to 2% per day for the usage I give it. Adding the SD card was very easy. I hope this battery performance lasts a long time. I saw that I can buy a replacement battery online when (hopefully in a few years) its performance drops significantly. 1.5 years later, the battery performance is practically unchanged.

I removed one star because I haven't found how (if possible) to increase the video duration a bit.

Also, sometimes the notification is a bit delayed (10-60? sec) and I occasionally miss who was in front in real time.

It has a motion sensor sensitivity adjustment. If you set it to low, it may miss a fast passerby but not someone who stands specifically at your door.

In general, it does the job I want. Now, if more expensive devices do a much better job, that's for sure.

Update 1.5 years after purchase. Battery consumption is 1.5-2% per day with about 20 passages.

It easily lasts 2 months without charging. 1.5 years after purchase, I tested it until the battery ran out. It lasted 2.5 months.

Generally though, I charge it at 1.5 months so the battery doesn't get completely empty. Charging takes a few hours and the manual says not to use a fast charger because it damages the battery. I use a 1 Amp charger from an old phone.

Overall, it does the job very well and there was an incident where a stranger rang the door while the child was inside, and through my phone I spoke to him instead of the child.

Easy installation with free 1-week notifications. Then, after purchasing a 100 euro package, daily notifications should be available for 365 days. Despite that, after contacting EZVIZ, it was confirmed that notifications continue to come even after a package expires in the cloud, but they are not stored. The alternative is a micro SD card up to 512GB which will store the entire history there.
There is instant notification in the application when you have Wi-Fi on, even with the slightest activation of the camera. If Wi-Fi is off, then as soon as you turn it on, notifications come to you. Notifications and recordings are encrypted.
The image is very clear, while in night mode the image is equally clear. You can take photos or videos or even talk to someone outside. Also, as soon as someone rings the camera bell, a call comes to your phone and you can answer normally, speaking to the person outside. The battery is quite good as with a lot of use, more than 2-3% per day, it will not decrease.
Depending on the settings you choose, the battery lasts accordingly. Now we need to check how long the battery lasts in energy saving mode with about 5-10 camera activations per day. I estimate at least a month. You can also choose from the application to set different time intervals and combine certain hours to have energy saving or full operation, etc.

I bought it on offer for 100€. Overall, it is worth its money but it is good to know some additional information before proceeding with the purchase. First of all, you can only access the recorded videos through the EZVIZ app, meaning via mobile or tablet (not computer!). So you can remotely, from wherever you are, watch live what the camera is recording or view the recorded videos. From the device itself, you can see live what it is recording at that moment and, if you want, press to record manually. The battery lasts 15-30 days depending on the movement outside your door, the viewing of videos through the app, etc. The more you use the app to watch the recorded videos, the more you drain the battery. There is also an option to speak remotely through the app and communicate with the person outside your door. You can even alter your voice and also receive notifications when there is any movement, or when someone presses the device's bell, etc. The capture is indeed wide-angle and HD. Of course, in the app, I have not chosen to view in HD because it lags excessively. Overall, it is worth its money and the app is quite user-friendly. Note that when you enter the app and watch videos, the device initially makes a sound like a "clack" which is audible. It also makes a "clack" sound when night vision is activated after you have enabled it and the lighting is low. On the external device, two very small red lights are visible when night vision is on. Just the "clack" sound it makes is audible and attracts attention to anyone passing by at night or in low light and when it is quiet. Finally, the device continues to record if someone passes by and you are at that time in the app watching previously recorded videos or even the live camera image.

Update 3/2/26:
The camera now gives an error and does not work. It lasted me 3 years of continuous operation. I have started correspondence with the manufacturer to see if I can find a solution and fix it, something I have not managed so far :(

Update 6/3/26:
Ezviz tried to help me but in the end, it was a hardware problem and specifically, the end of the ribbon/cable coming out of the camera was slightly cut, something I noticed afterwards. It was cut exactly at the adapter joint that connects to the screen. Obviously, because for so many years I kept removing and reattaching the screen from its base to charge it, plugging and unplugging the adapter, the ribbon ended up being cut at the edge.

In the end, I bought the same new product again! The old screen works but they do not sell just the camera separately :( . The new product is a bit different and specifically, the ribbon connecting the camera to the screen seems more reinforced. From now on, I will charge the camera on the spot with a power bank as much as possible without removing it from the base, so that the ribbon does not break again from plugging/unplugging, even if it seems more reinforced.
