Review this product
  • For its cost, I didn't expect anything crazy in terms of quality. With a bit of tape, it fit well, but the plastic frame of the base is very small, barely holding on at all, resulting in it "popping" up and coming loose

It was installed and now works OK but only after quite a bit of effort to find out what was wrong and fix it:
    1. I removed the plastic ring inside the knob at the top and put the metal counterweight from the old one, so it would be properly balanced and make shifting easier.
    2. The leather boot had been attached by the manufacturer the wrong way round to the base, i.e. the front side, which is longer, had been placed at the back and the short side at the front. As a result, the boot was stretching, pulling its base from the front and detaching it when I moved the lever backwards to engage 2nd or reverse in a 307. I removed the boot from its plastic base, rotated it 180 degrees and put it back, after making a few new cuts in the leather to fit properly into the base slots. I also had to trim a bit the two rear plastic 'tabs' of the base so they would fit straight into the frame in the car. After that, the base sat perfectly and never detached again.
    3. Also, the metal shaft with the plastic, on which the knob sits at the top, needed to be wrapped a few times with masking tape so the knob would fit tightly on it.
If you have bought this, you can try the above for better fit and operation.
If you haven't bought it, it's better to look for another one.

It doesn't fit at all, doesn't fit well (I tightened it with tape from the inside) on a 307 Peugeot, totally fake.

It doesn't fit well, resulting in it coming off easily, it's crooked in its application and flexible, making it difficult to change gears! Very, very far from the original...
