Our era is characterized by the fact that data, i.e., digital information whose production has now increased exponentially, has become a driving force of the economy, or in other words, a significant resource for economic development.
The data economy holds an important place in the GDP of modern states and contributes to job creation and the improvement of the quality of life of the modern individual. The new digital economy or data economy, sometimes referred to as "Industry 4.0," includes many emerging technologies that act disruptively, changing established structures and practices.
In this book, we will attempt to address the legal issues arising from the data economy, with an interdisciplinary approach covering aspects of commercial law, civil law, personal data protection issues, etc. Regulations on electronic transactions are analyzed in the author's previous studies.
This study specifically analyzes issues related to the emerging technologies of the data economy, which have not been sufficiently addressed by Greek science and literature. It is noted that the legal regulations for these legal issues currently exist in the form of proposals by the European Commission for the adoption of regulations and other legal acts, i.e., the regulatory framework is fluid, and the jurisprudence of the Courts is variable.
