A price of 450 euros is a joke. Shameful. The machine is very good for its real value at 200 euros. But selling it for 450 euros is infuriating.

      • It does its job and more, and I am satisfied. It requires descaling every 1 to 1.5 months (I use a Delonghi filter in the water tank), which is done only with a special Delonghi solution for this purpose. When the coffee is extracted, after about 8 months, I notice that the nozzle used for steam drips. Probably due to limescale over time, and that's why when I now descale, I let more solution run through the nozzle. It is not such a sturdy construction.

I have had this particular machine for 1 year. After searching for ways to improve extraction and since I do not have a grinder, I immediately made sure to buy a bottomless normcore portafilter, IMS DL2TH26E 18gr., scale, distribution needles, and a vacuum container for ground espresso along with the machine. After experimenting with extraction times, I found the right grind at a local coffee roaster and I am completely satisfied with the quality of espresso this machine produces. The next upgrade step should be the purchase of a grinder.

I would say it's good. It takes quite a while to heat the milk with its steam wand compared to a professional one in a café, which I didn't expect but it's logical to happen (I don't know if other similar models have such a problem). Nevertheless, I believe it's worth its money but I haven't tried similar ones

When I first used it, it made excellent coffee for the first 2-3 uses, just as everyone else describes in the reviews. However, after the second day of operation, it completely stopped extracting. No coffee would come out at all, even though I hadn’t changed the brand of coffee, the amount in the group, the tamping, etc. When pressing the button to start the extraction process, it makes the characteristic sound and then just stops without having poured a drop of coffee, with the water accumulating in the group without managing to pass through, except only when I put a minimal amount of coffee inside (experimenting from the 14 grams of the double group down to 7-8), in which case, of course, the coffee was bad. The steam wand, too, while at first it made satisfactory milk, later on it just 'barely blows' and only heats it. I will ask for a replacement and see what happens...

Very good purchase, makes coffee with rich crema. The milk frothing option is very useful. The ece pod capsules are very convenient (although they are hard to find). I would have liked better user instructions.

It makes quite good coffee for its price, especially with a bottomless portafilter and a non-pressurized basket. Specifically, for the first I got the Joe Frex and for the second the IMS that holds 18g. The result is very good. It holds enough water, has quality construction, the only negative is that when you hold it to twist the portafilter you accidentally press the buttons and generally it requires quite a bit of force.

Poor cappuccino maker, steam pressure is too weak to froth milk. Frother takes too long, which causes milk to overheat.

        The machine is a Star!
I had the De Longhi Dedica from 6 years ago (maybe even longer, I don’t remember what it’s called) exactly like this one but with the plastic steam wand.. and because I was very satisfied, I switched to this one that has the metal steam wand. As far as I understand, they are the same machines with the only change being the steam wand. Perfect coffee, and without exaggeration, both the freddo and the cappuccino have nothing to envy from professional machines.. I should mention that the old coffee maker works like a charm, I have it in the shop and it makes 4-6 coffees a day.. descaling with De Longhi liquid and it’s still going strong.. I highly recommend it!!!!

After I wasted a box of coffee for experiments with time and quantity, I ended up making nice coffee that easily competes with good coffee from outside. Its scoop is 7 grams, so 2 scoops for freddo espresso. I add a little more, almost 16 grams, with extraction of about 30 seconds yielding 35 ml of coffee. It makes satisfactory froth, not like what I would find outside, but it might also be the milk I use; however, overall the result is quite acceptable.

It is an excellent coffee maker. It is the third espresso machine I have bought, and I come from two Krups that I had in the past. I bought the original Krups about twenty years ago, and it served me very well for its time, before it broke down last month. The second Krups (different model) that I had bought for the vacation home was a complete disappointment because it produced ... zero crema. So, I decided to get another brand, and with the Dedica Arte, I was not disappointed. It makes nice coffee with a lot of crema using the standard portafilter that comes with it. I don't understand those who say to buy a new portafilter with a larger capacity and with a "single piece" extraction method. Maybe I'll try it later, but for now, I am very satisfied.

I have had it for 3 months, it makes good coffee and satisfactory froth! I enjoy my coffee more at home than outside in a café. It is relatively a bit more expensive compared to many other machines, but it's worth it! It also has the ability to take ground coffee as well as capsules. I recommend it for someone who wants a decent quality coffee.

With some additions - upgrades like the portafilter, you can make espresso comparable to take away. It is not professional in any way, but it will pay for itself; tested for ten days, it produces consistent coffee quality. On the downside, the pump is a bit noisy, but if it lasts over time, it is a value-for-money purchase. Tested with Hausbrandt academia beans and an electric grinder set to six, I get the result I want. The extraction times can be adjusted as you wish and remain until you change them again if needed. The steam wand has an air release hole; if it's not enough for you, you can upgrade it (in my opinion, it's not necessary). It also has its own pressurized portafilter for those who want to use pre-ground coffee, but I can't comment on the coffee quality results since it wasn't purchased for that kind of use.

after the 685 which will go to the country house, I bought the arte model to be my main coffee machine at home. it makes the same good coffee as the 685. the main difference (which personally doesn't interest me much since I don't drink coffee with milk) is the nozzle and also that its double basket can take up to 17 grams of coffee, compared to the 14 grams that the 685 can hold at maximum, so you can make a tasty freddo, even with the factory portafilter. and finally, the pre-infusion of water in the double dose compared to the 685 takes a few more seconds, resulting in the coffee being "wetted" better, resulting in a better crema. I think it's worth the extra money to go for the 885.

As you can see in the photos, with this espresso machine you can even make latte art. The quality of the coffee is definitely not that of a professional machine, but with the tips, the bottomless portafilter, and some good adjustments on a decent grinder, you won't miss coffee from outside. With this amount of money, you are buying a coffee machine that gives you a decent coffee. Achieving the result of a coffee made by a machine that costs between 6000 and 10000 is certainly very difficult, even with modifications on home machines. I am satisfied with the money I spent and with how easy it is to use and clean. The fact that its steam wand is like a professional one helps even more for a better quality cappuccino.

Bought it for 299 euros, returned it the same day as the water tank was leaking and water was running like a river underneath, got a replacement after 2 days. The new machine worked great for a while, making amazing coffee, but then it started to not be able to produce coffee, as if there was no pressure. I even tried using half the amount of coffee and not pressing it at all, but it still couldn't produce coffee. Additionally, the steam function was not working either. I returned it on 16/3/24, they have sent it to the service center and I am waiting.
P.S. The previous model is still in use in a workplace and makes over 20 coffees daily for the past 3 years without any issues (same coffee with the same process), that's why I bought it again.

Really excellent! Sturdy construction made of stainless steel, a nozzle that the more expensive professional espresso machines have and that makes frothed milk as it should be if someone knows how to handle it correctly. No comparison to automatic machines that cost even 600€-700€. With a manual machine, specifically this EC885, if you learn how to operate it, you can make espresso that is 90% as good as what you would drink from a professional machine with a skilled barista, because the truth is that most people don't know. You will not be disappointed with the purchase. Buy it without hesitation unless you want a machine that does everything itself, but you definitely won't be drinking the same coffee.

Purchased in the afternoon, returned the next morning.
It doesn't produce water, it only does preinfusion. It may be defective. I will update when I am informed by the store.
Update: The first one was indeed defective. The store replaced it for me immediately.
After the initial tests, the impressions were very good. Now, for the quality of coffee, cream, etc., the variety we buy plays a role. In the photo, it is ground Costa from the supermarket

Nevertheless, I believe it's worth its money but I haven't tried similar ones

      • When I first used it, it made excellent coffee for the first 2-3 uses, just as everyone else describes in the reviews.

Excellent the best purchase I have made. For coffee, I recommend the Hausbrandt Blue. If it is freshly ground, perfect.... Even if it had ten stars, I would give them.

          • A price of 450 euros is a joke.

          • I have had this particular machine for 1 year.

          • I would say it's good. It takes quite a while to heat the milk with its steam wand compared to a professional one in a café, which I didn't expect but it's logical to happen (I don't know if other similar models have such a problem). Nevertheless, I believe it's worth its money but I haven't tried similar ones

          • When I first used it, it made excellent coffee for the first 2-3 uses, just as everyone else describes in the reviews.
