The QNap TS-253E NAS is used as a file, backup, FTP, mail and media server, as well as for surveillance systems and virtual machines. It features a 2 GHz quad-core Intel Celeron J6412 processor and 8 GB of RAM. Dual HDMI outputs support direct media playback and surveillance monitoring.

It accepts up to two HDDs or SSDs and supports NVMe SSD caching via M.2 slots. The two Ethernet ports can be used for increased transfer speeds or redundancy. The USB ports allow you to connect devices such as printers and USB flash drives. Hard drives are not included.
