Well, first of all, let's say that the card is really very powerful. Now the question is who it is aimed at at this price; definitely not a casual gamer and certainly not someone using 1080p resolution because the bottleneck will be overwhelming with the processor unless we are talking about a Ryzen x3d. I believe this card is aimed at enthusiast gamers who want the near-absolute in high resolutions like 4k.

Purchased for ultra wide (3440x1440p) and 4k gaming, I play quite a few triple AAA titles so I wanted something quite powerful and something that would keep me without upgrading for at least 3 years. This particular card has not disappointed me; I have thrown everything at it over 60fps on all ultra settings and I had no issues in any game. Now, as for Raytracing, it is not the strong point of AMD cards. Personally, I don't use it at all, but for those who need it, I mention it.

Positives for this specific card and implementation:
- Very good temperatures, maxing out at 65 degrees so far
- 24gb Vram, you won't run out
- No coil whine like some other cards
- The build quality of this specific implementation is very good (Sapphire Nitro+)

Negatives:
For me personally, there is nothing negative; maybe the price is a bit high, but we know how things work with graphics cards now. Perhaps a negative is that AMD will not provide FSR 4 for this specific 7000 series but only for the 9000 series. Also, I would mention as a negative the draw power that can exceed 400-410 watts, but okay, the card is extremely powerful, and it is reasonable to demand that much power, so keep in mind to have a good power supply with enough watts. Also, I should point out that the card is large in both length and thickness, so keep that in mind regarding whether it fits in your case.

In conclusion:

This particular card is the best from AMD, even better than a 9070xt in gaming by about 5%, but let's not forget the 8gb more Vram it has, which will be needed by someone who is involved beyond gaming with 3D design, etc. It certainly won't compete with models like 4090-5090, but it doesn't have anything to envy; after all, the price difference is chaotic to justify the performance difference, especially in some 5090 or 5080. Finally, because many still insist on AMD's drivers, no, we are not in 2017; AMD has done very well and no longer has issues with drivers.

Yesterday I installed it, of course I will come back, just with a careful UV and OC (2300min-2400max, 15%PL, 2714 ram freq, 1120mv) and 2 hours of testing in Assetto Corsa Competizione 2k all ultra on the LG ULTRAGEAR 45', 100fps avg and I didn't see temperatures above 50c! Of course, the UV OC was done for energy saving, after all, why push the whole card and the PSU for a few more FPS??? For me, there is no reason!!! Guys, the card is a brick, it needs special attention during installation and BE CAREFUL with the RGB cable, the card's pins have very thin soldering and with the slightest force they come off, for me, to get the RGB to work with the motherboard settings, I had to download Saphire's TRIXX and from there you give the command!!! In general, it needs some settings from Adrenalin which you should study some GOOD videos on YouTube to know what you are doing!!!! I will come back after some 'stretching'!!! I returned 9-3-2025 and as you will see in the photo, these settings work PERFECTLY!!! Update 13/02/2026, small but wise changes, here we go... (500 min, 2890 max, 1110mv, clock 2700, PL 10%) I do not recommend below 1110mv because it cannot maintain 2890 frequency with these volts, resulting in errors in the stress test, as you will see in the last video the temperatures are just AWESOME, and where it shows the watts in OCCT 444 it doesn't show the average but the full values it reaches, in reality the actual watts it consumes are not above 360-375, ok this card implementation just rocks!!!!

If the latest driver update causes problems for someone, just roll back to a previous version (or at least the one that didn't have issues).
I would also suggest doing it with DDU in safe mode.

Step 1: Download the driver(s) you want to install beforehand in a location where you can easily find them as soon as you open the PC (desktop in a folder).

Step 2: In the search, type msconfig (system configuration) and in the boot options, check safe boot with no network access (safeboot). Apply and restart.
*To be extra safe and to prevent Windows from automatically downloading drivers and simultaneously installing other drivers while you are trying to delete and install the ones you want, it’s a good idea to disconnect any internet connection you have (Ethernet cable/wifi off).

Step 3: In the DDU program, select to delete any AMD graphics driver, but it’s also good to do the same for Nvidia whether you have it or not, and vice versa for those who have Nvidia. (Delete no reboot yet) *Often, the first time you set up the PC, Windows downloads other drivers as well to be ready, which are usually outdated generic drivers that also leave remnants behind.

Step 4: After the clean-up + reboot, open msconfig again, uncheck the safe boot you checked before, and do another reboot to enter normal mode.

Step 5: After that, just go and install the driver you downloaded earlier. (All of this, I repeat, without internet access until the installation is complete).

Optionally, I would suggest one last reboot after the driver installation, and before the BIOS splash screen, you can reconnect the Ethernet if you want.

This way, you do a proper driver installation without remnants of previous drivers that are not deleted because they are in use when in normal mode and not in safe mode.
The program is simply called DDU, and it is very easy to use.
It may have an option to take you to safe mode, but after some Windows versions, it no longer does so automatically.

At the price it’s available, it’s the best option if you’re between the 4090 and this one. You save €700-800 and get exactly the same performance. On a 1440p screen, it doesn’t struggle at all. The product is intended for 4K, so I’m more than covered. The Adrenaline software for drivers and settings is incredible. Nvidia can’t compare. For the first time six months ago, I took the risk of building an all AMD computer. I combined it with a Ryzen 7 7800x3D. I was very afraid of bugs and other malfunctions; I must admit I was biased and thought I wouldn’t switch from Intel and Nvidia. Fortunately, I was very wrong. This card with the processor is an incredible combo. With the money I saved from Nvidia and Intel, I managed to get an OLED from Ultra Gear. In heavy games like Hogwarts Legacy, without activating any performance-boosting settings on the card, it runs at 160fps at 70°C. It can go higher, but it doesn’t make sense. Generally, temperatures in AMD differ from Nvidia. AMD has a tolerance of up to 10°C higher than Nvidia and similarly for Intel processors.

The truth is that I was hesitant to buy it after years with Nvidia. In the end, I didn’t regret it! Excellent card! Beautiful, silent, with amazing performance! Even though I’ve only had it for a few days and haven’t explored it thoroughly, the tests in some games speak for themselves… “Tomb Raider 250 fps, War of Warships Legends 245, Call of Duty 150, MSFS 2020 depending on the area, weather conditions, and aircraft from 40 to 100.” All settings on Ultra in all games and without FSR 2! It’s paired with an MSI B550 Tomahawk, Ryzen 5600X (5800X3D in the future), 3200 MHz RAM, and 4K resolution and I am absolutely satisfied. I haven’t seen temperatures above 60 degrees. I haven’t faced any issues with drivers at all. Surely, it’s a lot of money for the purchase, but you get what you pay for. In my opinion, this particular implementation is the ultimate value for money that will satisfy even the most demanding! For those who have the money and aren’t stuck with Nvidia, this one is out there…

Edit: For MSFS 2020 fans: Enabling AMD Fluid Motion Frames and the performance is on another level! The fps went up from a minimum of 40 to 85 and the maximum from 100 to 165! Depending on the area and aircraft as I mentioned above. The simulation experience went to another level!

Update 12/10/25: After 2 years of use, the card continues to impress me as it did on the first day! It was paired with a 5800X3D and G Skill Trident Z and the result has absolutely justified me! In the games I play (MSFS 2020, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Batman, World of Tanks/Warships) I’ve seen from 60 up to 380 fps!! 4K resolution with AMD FLUID MOTION FRAMES 2.1 enabled. Temperature steady at 83 degrees (I’ve never seen it higher compared to the CPU) and power consumption in full mode up to 440 watts!! That, yes, hurt a bit! For those thinking about it… you’re just tiring your mind! For those who got it… just enjoy!!!

The card is definitely the best one can get for the 7900XTX. Sapphire has done an excellent job with its cooling, as long as it is properly ventilated in the space. Its 3 fans up to 2000-2100 RPM (50-53%) are barely audible, while with headphones on you can't hear anything even at 2500 RPM (max 3200+).
Satisfactory cooling at these (2000) RPM or even lower, to keep the GPU Hotspot below 80C at 400W. The card has 2 BIOS and between the 2 + the setting -10% / + 15% through Adrenalin drivers it can be adjusted to a (total maximum) consumption from 315W up to 465W in steps of 5-6W. However, for 400-465W you will need a quality 800-850W power supply.
At 380-400W that I am using it, I never saw GPU / VRAM temperatures above 80C (air on the card 21-22C).
I haven't tried many games yet, but so far the performance is very high at 3440x1440. In most games I see well above 100fps on high/ultra settings.

The monitor is at 175Hz and I use it at 144Hz with Vsync OFF, VRR ON from Adrenalin. The gaming experience is smooth without stutters or tearing.

I decided for the first time to switch from Nvidia to AMD GPU and I don't regret it at all. The difference, first of all, from the 3090 is something more noticeable. Bought it for 1100e and opening the package, which is a cheap cardboard box(!), you see the brick weighing almost 2 kilos!! Luckily, it has a very good support inside which is extremely useful.
Installed it on the motherboard and let's get to the point. The card, during gameplay, especially Warzone, handles everything at max settings in 2K and it works flawlessly and cool until the end of June, reaching temperatures of 62-63 degrees. In terms of performance, this beast in Warzone gives pain with 210-240fps with Fidelity CAS. In case I activate FSR 2, which is AMD's equivalent of DLSS, things go even further.
The fans need a little tweaking from Adrenalin to be quiet, some might be bothered by their default settings.
Also, Adrenalin, which I didn't consider as an Nvidia user, I can say that it is a complete tool for the card and noticeably better than the Nvidia control panel!!
Overall, the card is a beast. Is it worth its money? Compared to a 4080, yes, it is worth it, and I would say that even compared to a 4090, if someone is going exclusively for gaming, this specific Sapphire implementation is the ultimate value for money.

I will start with the negatives...
1. This particular card is quite bulky, so make sure it fits in your case before purchasing. However, this can also be a good thing, which I will explain below.
2. It draws quite a bit of power depending on the task. I have seen it reach 320w at maximum without changing anything.
3. There is a bug that mainly affects high-resolution and high-refresh rate monitors, and it draws around 70w without doing anything. This is something that may be fixed in the future.
4. It is expensive, especially for AMD.

Now for the positives!
1. This card comes with "anti-sag" support to prevent the PCI slot from bending and to distribute the weight evenly.
2. Because it is bulky, it has no issues with temperature, and the fans are quiet. It is also hot-swappable, so if one fan breaks in the future, SAPPHIRE will send a replacement.
3. In my opinion, this is the most beautiful version of the card with tasteful RGB lighting (which can be controlled through the Trixx application or by connecting an ARGB cable to the motherboard).
4. Performance is slightly better than the 4080 (without ray tracing) and costs 200 euros less, but it does consume more power.
5. I prefer AMD's software (Adrenalin) over Nvidia's, as it allows for better tweaking without needing additional applications like MSI Afterburner. It has also improved significantly in recent years, along with driver updates.

Overall, it is a good card, but perhaps not worth the high price tag. If you don't need a graphics card right now, it may be worth waiting for something better to come along. However, if you are purely gaming, it is a good option. If you are doing 3D modeling, Nvidia may be necessary due to CUDA (although AMD does have ROCM, which is similar to CUDA, but I am not knowledgeable on the subject). If you have a bit more money to spend, then the 4080 may be a better option (unless you have an AMD CPU due to SAM support).
