The drive is 3.2 but came with a v3.0 cable.
From what I understand, this is not a mistake in the order but the cable that always comes with the drive is usb v3.0. This means that the usb v3.2 drive will not deliver the speed it can with a 3.0 cable. Therefore, this does not concern the order but the product overall.

The hard drive works well, the speed is quite good for an HDD. However, there was one issue where my MacBook stopped mounting the drive and I had to do a full reformat. I had a backup of my data on iCloud (2TB), so I reformatted the drive to APFS format since I use it exclusively with my MacBook . Everything was fine - I was transferring photos and created a photo library directly on the HDD. I had almost finished transferring 4 years of data when one day I connected the drive and the MacBook couldn't mount it. I always ejected the device properly using the "eject disk" function. Thankfully I had already made a copy of the data to Google Drive, so I didn't lose anything after deleting it from iCloud. My conclusion is that the drive can be used but with great caution, and always keep a second copy on another drive or in the cloud - keep in mind there is a risk of data loss simply because the Macbook may fail to mount the drive upon connection.

relatively quiet, good build quality. I bought one before the prices went up and by the time I saw how it performs, prices had increased by 20 percent so I didn't buy another one

They are good for storage but for transfer, they in no way reach the speeds they claim.. they have many fluctuations resulting in an old usb 2 drive with a stable speed of 30 taking about the same time as this one which is supposed to be 3.2. We're talking about fluctuations that drop even to kb/sec..

I have had 2 Toshiba Canvio drives (2-4 TB) for years and I have no problems. I use them on a PS5 console and on an Nvidia Shield TV box without any issues!

Very worthwhile solution for an external drive. I have been using it for many months as a second backup and it is ideal. Fast, with a write speed of 120MB/sec (in the photo it happened to peak, just as it can drop for a few seconds to 90MB/sec). [Edit: The 1.96TB backup was copied to it in 5 hours and 3 minutes, so the average speed was 113MB/sec]
It is good to keep in mind that its cable is particularly short (about 25-30cm), obviously because it is also powered through it. So it might not be convenient for someone who wants to have it permanently connected to a Desktop PC.

In the approximately 1 year that I have had it, it has not shown the slightest problem. The only thing that bothers me is that since I use it as my main drive to store all my music (I work as a DJ), it spins down and goes into standby after 1 minute of inactivity, and when I want to load the next track I have to wait 5-6 seconds until the disks spin up again and it can read. As for speeds, for MP3 files that I work with, I get 120-130MB/sec READ and 80-90MB/sec write.

Απο ταχυτητες για MP3 αρχεια που δουλευω 120-130ΜΒ/sec READ και 80-90MB/sec write .
I had bought two (4TB, one blue, one red) in 2020 to store my videos and photos (mainly taken with my phone), as well as the videos I make for my YouTube channel (one backing up the other).
At some point in 2024, they filled up, so I bought two more Toshiba (4TB, both black) so I could have two for my videos/photos and two for my YouTube videos (again, two backups for each use).
I don't use them daily, I don't have them constantly connected to the computer. I take them out of the drawer and transfer new data every 2-4 months. All of them still work perfectly.
I wish Toshiba had continued with higher capacities because I'm starting to think about getting two 10TB drives now, and unfortunately, Toshiba only goes up to 4TB.

Δεν τους έχω για καθημερινή χρήση, δεν τους έχω συνέχεια συνδεδεμένους στον υπολογιστή. Τους βγάζω από το συρτάρι και μεταφέρω τα νέα δεδομένα κάθε 2-4 μήνες. Όλοι δουλεύουν άψογα ακόμα.
Μακάρι η Toshiba να είχε συνεχίσει και πιο πάνω γιατί έχω αρχίσει να σκέφτομαι για δύο των 10TB πλέον και δυστυχώς η Toshiba έχει μείνει μέχρι τα 4ΤΒ.

Shameful (IT DOES NOT HAVE SATA), it has the USB port integrated on the disk (See photos).
If something goes wrong and you need to put the disk in another SATA to USB enclosure to retrieve data, then... cry, Haralambos.

Καλό είναι να υπάρχει μόνο υπ' όψιν ότι το καλώδιό του είναι ιδιαίτερα κοντό (περίπου 25-30cm) προφανώς γιατι από αυτό τροφοδοτείται και με ρεύμα. Οπότε ίσως να μη βολέψει κάποιον που τον θέλει να τον έχει μόνιμα συνδεδεμένο σε Desktop PC.
In the approximately 1 year that I have had it, it has not shown the slightest problem. The only thing that bothers me is that since I use it as my main drive to store all my music (I work as a DJ), it spins down and goes into standby after 1 minute of inactivity, and when I want to load the next track I have to wait 5-6 seconds until the disks spin up again and it can read. As for speeds, for MP3 files that I work with, I get 120-130MB/sec READ and 80-90MB/sec write.
Στον περιπου 1 χρονο που τον εχω δεν εχει παρουσιασει το παραμικρο προβλημα . Το μονο που με ενοχλει ειναι το οτι τον χρησιμοποιω σαν βασικο δισκο για να εχω ολη την μουσικη μου (Εργαζομαι ως DJ) ειναι οτι κανει spin down και μπαινει σε stand by μετα απο 1 λεπτο αδρανειας και οταν θελω να φορτωσω το επομενο κοματι περιμενω 5-6 δευτερολεπτα μεχρι να ξανακανει spin up τους δισκους και να διαβασει . Απο ταχυτητες για MP3 αρχεια που δουλευω 120-130ΜΒ/sec READ και 80-90MB/sec write .
I had bought two (4TB, one blue, one red) in 2020 to store my videos and photos (mainly taken with my phone), as well as the videos I make for my YouTube channel (one backing up the other).
At some point in 2024, they filled up, so I bought two more Toshiba (4TB, both black) so I could have two for my videos/photos and two for my YouTube videos (again, two backups for each use).
I don't use them daily, I don't have them constantly connected to the computer. I take them out of the drawer and transfer new data every 2-4 months. All of them still work perfectly.
I wish Toshiba had continued with higher capacities because I'm starting to think about getting two 10TB drives now, and unfortunately, Toshiba only goes up to 4TB.
Είχα αγοράσει δύο (των 4TB, έναν μπλε, έναν κόκκινο) το 2020 για να αποθηκεύω τα βίντεο και φωτογραφίες μου (που βγάζω με το κινητό κυρίως), καθώς και τα βίντεο που φτιάχνω για το κανάλι μου στο Youtube (backup ο ένας του άλλου).
Κάποια στιγμή το 2024 γέμισαν, οπότε αγόρασα άλλους δύο Toshiba (4ΤΒ, μαύροι και οι δύο) για να έχω τους δύο για βίντεο/φωτογραφίες μου και δύο για τα βίντεο του Youtube (πάλι δύο backup για κάθε χρήση).
Δεν τους έχω για καθημερινή χρήση, δεν τους έχω συνέχεια συνδεδεμένους στον υπολογιστή. Τους βγάζω από το συρτάρι και μεταφέρω τα νέα δεδομένα κάθε 2-4 μήνες. Όλοι δουλεύουν άψογα ακόμα.
Μακάρι η Toshiba να είχε συνεχίσει και πιο πάνω γιατί έχω αρχίσει να σκέφτομαι για δύο των 10TB πλέον και δυστυχώς η Toshiba έχει μείνει μέχρι τα 4ΤΒ.

Shameful (IT DOES NOT HAVE SATA), it has the USB port integrated on the disk (See photos).
If something goes wrong and you need to put the disk in another SATA to USB enclosure to retrieve data, then... cry, Haralambos.

So far it seems very reliable. There is no issue, it has served me well. I would like it to be faster, but it's okay, we can't have it all.

I used it to take backups and store large files, but in less than 2 years of owning it, and without anything happening (e.g. drop, water, etc.), my computer simply stopped reading it. And of course, I lost all my files!
Τον χρησιμοποιούσα για να παίρνω backup και να έχω αρχεία μεγάλου μεγέθους, όμως σε λιγότερο από 2 χρόνια που τον έχω και χωρίς να έχει συμβεί κάτι (πχ πτώση, νερό, κλπ), απλά σταμάτησε να τον διαβάζει ο υπολογιστής μου. Και σφαλώς έχασα όλα τα αρχεία μου!
I've had it for about a month now for all my large VST libraries that don't need to run at SSD speeds. It works with ext4 format for compatibility with Linux, reads everything at satisfactory read/write speeds, given the low expectations for an external HDD.
Ideal hard drive for bulky static files for professionals in the creative media field, as well as for large games, movies, etc.
Το έχω εδώ και κανά μήνα για όλες μου τις μεγάλες βιβλιοθήκες VST που δεν χρειάζονται να τρέχουν σε ταχύτητες SSD. Λειτουργεί με ext4 format για συμβατότητα με Linux, διαβάζει τα πάντα με ικανοποιητικές ταχύτητες read/write, δεδομένου των χαμηλών προσδοκιών για έναν εξωτερικό HDD.
Ιδανικός σκληρός για ογκώδες στατικό αρχείο επαγγελματιών στα καλλιτεχνικά media, καθώς και για μεγάλα παιχνίδια, ταινίες κτλ.
The hard drive works well, the speed is quite good for an HDD. However, there was one issue where my MacBook stopped mounting the drive and I had to do a full reformat. I had a backup of my data on iCloud (2TB), so I reformatted the drive to APFS format since I use it exclusively with my MacBook . Everything was fine - I was transferring photos and created a photo library directly on the HDD. I had almost finished transferring 4 years of data when one day I connected the drive and the MacBook couldn't mount it. I always ejected the device properly using the "eject disk" function. Thankfully I had already made a copy of the data to Google Drive, so I didn't lose anything after deleting it from iCloud. My conclusion is that the drive can be used but with great caution, and always keep a second copy on another drive or in the cloud - keep in mind there is a risk of data loss simply because the Macbook may fail to mount the drive upon connection.
