The Black & Decker FSM1610 steam mop cleans hard floors with AutoSelect technology, which adjusts the amount of steam according to the floor type. It is ready to use in 15 seconds, when the indicator light on the water tank changes from red to blue, and leaves floors dry and clean.

The water tank is easy to remove, fills with tap water, and features an anti-limescale filtration system. The head swivels 180° for easier manoeuvring around furniture and through narrow spaces. The appliance can be stored upright or hung on the wall, and switches off automatically when locked in the upright position. The microfibre pad can be washed more than 100 times.

    Very user-friendly and easy to handle, it quickly creates steam. The cable is very short, like most of them, so an extension is definitely needed. I will need more time than the two months I have had it to check its build quality.

    Poor quality plastics, while it does a fairly good job, the arm handle was destroyed after 2 years and additionally broke at the base where it allows rotation and supports the steam cleaner. Only the spare parts cost more than the device itself, so it's not worth repairing. I would hardly buy a similar product from the same company again.

    This particular product is excellent. It is ready to use in about 5 seconds and cleans very well. In tough stains, it may require a second pass, but ultimately the floor cleans much better than a mop. It also theoretically disinfects, so if there are small children, it is somewhat safer than a traditional mop. Overall, it is very convenient and user-friendly. The reason I don't give it 5/5 is that it broke for me personally. The damage it suffered was irreparable. From what I saw on the internet, I was probably extremely unlucky.
