Description

A class president among class presidents, a bespectacled model student who soars to the top of honors lists without fail, Tsubasa Hanekawa also happens to be a decent human being. True, she does have a habit of making single-minded assumptions, but they come from a good place and turn out to be fortuitous as often as not.

Loser extraordinaire Koyomi Araragi owes her his post of class vice president and a more significant debt of gratitude for her unstinting support during the darkest spring break of his life. All of it has blinded him to the possibility that his saintly classmate's family situation might be no less adverse than that of his other lady friends.

Thus, at last, we face Hanekawa's unlikely aberration in "Tsubasa Cat"--the concluding part of the legendary novel that captured the sensibilities of a new generation in the aught years and spawned an animated series that has won international popularity and acclaim--before the story continues with a Fake Tale...

  • The light novel is fantastic, as one would expect from Nisioisin. The language, although in English, is very nice. It has all the elements that one would expect from someone who has seen the anime plus additional pieces of dialogue and thoughts from Araragi that were not in the adaptation. Overall, for fans of the Monogatari series, it is a MUST. And even for those who do not have much contact with the series, I would recommend it to them (having read the previous two of course) because the dialogues are unparalleled and a truly unique experience for those who enjoy clever sketches and puns. (Although the truth is you might need a basic knowledge of Japanese *or Google Translate, in my case* to catch some of them, something that doesn't really spoil the experience much).

However, my complaints (and the reason why the stars are four and not five) are that what I received had some serious quality issues because there were some pages that were smeared with a brown liquid... I don't know what it was! I don't know how it happened! but I'll be honest, it bothered me... so for those of you who are collectors or generally want your books in perfect condition, I would recommend being prepared because you never know what you might get...
