The life of young Jim Hawkins changes forever when a mysterious sailor, carrying an old chest, comes to stay at his father's inn.

One day, the strange visitor, who seems to seek solitude, reveals to the young boy that he was once a member of the crew of the notorious pirate Flint. When the sailor dies, Jim discovers a map that appears to lead to the pirate's lost treasure.
