The blades of Silberthal meet quality criteria superior to conventional standards: Made from highly pure zirconium oxide. The dark black blade color is obtained through a tempering technology, unlike conventional ceramic blades that are made with paint mixtures. For better durability in use, the blades are up to 2 millimeters thick. The Santoku features grooves to prevent food from sticking, a characteristic not found in regular ceramic knives.
