Description

Our over twenty-five years of clinical experience in handling requests for cancer patient care at the public hospital has led us to connect the diversity of the manifestation of localized physical symptoms with the three levels of existence: the actions of the body, the thoughts, and the emotions of the individual.

It is strongly supported that the progressive collapse of the immune system's defense, a consequence of chronic stress, loss, anxiety, and depression, constitutes predisposing factors for illness. We classify cancer among psychosomatic diseases because it involves an early narcissistic disorder.

The early unprocessed psychological trauma, characterized by elements such as absence, loss, neglect, emptiness, ambivalence, and a disturbed maternal presence, constitutes an irritating factor that is firmly inscribed in the body's memory and consumes the psyche.

Cancer calls the individual it visits to re-examine the significance and function of the affected organ. It raises questions and urgently brings back the choices and priorities of the individual regarding their relationship with the body and the entirety of the self: Are these choices ultimately in favor of life or death?
