The visual character of writing, as a common trait among certain surrealist poets of the post-war period, prompted an exploration of the relationship between poetry and painting within the entire group of Greek post-war poets associated with Surrealism (Miltos Sahouris, Hector Kaknavatos, Dimitris Papaditsas, Nano Valaroti, Eleni Vakalo, Epanimondas Gonatas, Matsi Chatzilazarou, Giorgos Likas, etc.).
This study confirmed the hypothesis that there is an initial similarity between the poetics of the post-war surrealists and their modes of pictorial expression; an aesthetic perception and writing practice that allows us to speak, to a lesser or greater extent, of a form of "poetic painting" or alternatively "painted poetry".
The research objective of the book is to examine the various ways in which the relationship between the poetry of Greek post-war surrealists and painting manifests within the context of communication, the fusion of these two arts.
