Inspired by the music that accompanied performances of the National Theatre from 1932 to 2005, this study focuses on issues related to its integration into contemporary theatre productions.
Using as a basis the reflections cultivated by contemporary composers and their collaboration with various directorial approaches, this study highlights the dynamic role of the musical factor, primarily in the reception of Ancient drama.
It emphasizes its formation alongside the attempted renewal and overturning of musical language in Europe, while determining its significance in conjunction with the numerous historical changes in modern Greece.
