Jean Baptiste Marc Bourgery (1797–1849) has made a significant contribution with the Atlas of Anatomy, which is one of the most comprehensive and artistically illustrated anatomical treatises ever published. His collaboration with illustrator Nicolas Henri Jacob (1782–1871) began in 1830. The first volumes were published the following year, but the completion of the work required nearly two decades of dedication. The eight volumes cover descriptive anatomy, surgical anatomy and techniques, general anatomy and embryology, as well as microscopic anatomy. Jacob's stunning lithographs are renowned for their clarity and aesthetic value, providing exceptional anatomical knowledge for physicians, artists, and students.
