It is primarily designed for hikers, climbers, and travelers who go off the mobile network, offering two-way messaging, location sharing, and SOS functionality via the global Iridium satellite network.

Limitations You Should Know

• Small screen: The built-in 1.1-inch digital display mainly confirms message sending/receiving and basic settings. For easy message typing, using a smartphone is almost essential.
• Subscription required: Like all inReach devices, to operate satellite messaging and SOS functions, an active monthly or annual Iridium satellite data plan is necessary.
