This book contains stories of ordinary people who strive to offer their sanctified selves to God. They change, and along with them, many others change as well – those who have sincere intentions – since each of our examples influences many people in successive circles, starting with our family, friends, and acquaintances.
A common characteristic among them is that at some point in their lives, pain shook their existence to the core; they recognized failures, vanities, and excesses and sought to quench their thirst with the "water that springs up into eternal life." All the narratives are based on true stories we heard during confessions. Of course, we changed names and details.
These are the stories of saints living next door who are unknown to many but sanctified in the eyes of God. Our wish is for them to continue this way until the end, as unfortunately, we know many who have experienced His love and then got swept away, forgotten, and abandoned.
Perhaps an unfortunate soul seeking repentance will read these and think they are moralistic tales for the naive, but they are stories that have happened, are happening, and will continue to happen as long as people struggle to put into practice what is "needed," as Christ commanded us.
