A brief introduction to the main political developments that took place in North Macedonia from 1990 to 2019 and the ratification of the Prespa Agreement.
The book analyzes a series of central issues for North Macedonia and its identity, such as its independence in 1991, the establishment of a multiparty system, the course of interethnic relations, and the signing of the Prespa Agreement, as well as the main ideological characteristics and political choices of the governments during the period under review, and their impacts on society.
The writing of this study aims to fill an existing gap in the Greek literature, contributing to a better understanding of a neighboring country, with which Greece has been experiencing, for about three decades, a slow and painful process of improving bilateral relations.
