Description

The third book describes the activities of the gods of the fourth generation, according to Hesiod's genealogy, and their connection to the geophysical environment, starting with the river gods and the six major gods and goddesses of Olympus.

It continues with the gods of later generations and ultimately various heroes. Special emphasis is placed on the heroic ancestors of the Greeks, as well as on other less known or completely ignored figures, such as Palamedes and Anchises, along with many others whose activities demonstrate the decisive contribution of prehistoric Greeks to the formation first of Ancient Greek civilization and subsequently of European and more broadly Western civilization.

The book makes an effort to answer questions related to the genesis of the gods, specifically concerning "when" and "for what reasons" these specific generations of gods were created, linking them to significant climatic changes and the profound impacts on the geophysical evolution of the broader Aegean region over the last 18,000 years, which is –in its details– unique across the entire planet.

At the same time, it refers to the theogonies of various peoples living around the Eastern Mediterranean (Sumerians, Babylonians, Hittites, Egyptians, Israelites) who also developed significant cultures primarily during the prehistoric era.
