    I have used it for 2 years with one or even two cats.
    Its design helps so that odors accumulate on the ceiling of the litter box exactly at the spot of the filter! So it doesn't smell at all! Unless you haven't cleaned it for a week.

    The downside is that placing the top part is a bit of a process because grains of sand can get into the slots and it may not fit well, but you can clean them
