Set in the modern era, in a quiet valley somewhere in northern England, this adventure concerns the collapse of an old tradition in the picturesque village of Muscoby - and the consequences of forgetting the Old Ways.

Muscoby has never had rats. Old Gurteen maintains the tradition in the village but has recently been involved in an accident and is now hospitalized. With Old Gurteen gone, who will ensure that the rat population remains under control?

Six pre-generated investigators are provided for use with this scenario, which serves as an excellent introduction to Call of Cthulhu, while also being a suitably mysterious and chilling night of fun for more experienced players.
