Description

The Spartan 5 MAX is a short cooler (its highest point is 14.6 cm), with which you will start a cold winter on your CPU. The arctic breeze is ensured by a Fluctus 120 mm fan. We placed it on a heatsink with dense fins and four heat pipes, so you don't have to worry about overheating. With such a package, you can render and design without worrying that your CPU will suddenly turn blue (unless you have colorful lights in stock).

The Spartan 5 MAX is also compatible with many sockets (from older ones like AM2 and LGA1156 to AM5 and LGA1700) and tall RAM sticks.

  • I got it for an old CPU. Intel core i7 870 (45 nm architecture). The processor at full load, at 107 watts, reached a maximum of 69 degrees in an old case that has only one small 80mm fan and in a room without air conditioning that reaches 30 degrees now in the summer. Perfect for its price and for my needs.

Effective and easy to install. On an unlocked hexacore i5 (10600) with 12 threads in a CPU burn test, the temperature reached 78 degrees in silent profile and the fan was not audible. The cover is quite sensitive and easily shows marks.

Easy installation, there is also a video on YT. It dropped the temperature by about 20°C compared to the period when the old CPU fan broke and I didn't have one.

Installation was done on a Socket 2011-3 motherboard with a 14-core Xeon processor with 135 TDP. The motherboard had its own base and the installation was very easy. It has its own thermal pad so it doesn't require paste during installation. In the first few days of operation, with room temperatures of 15-18 degrees and in a well-ventilated case, it cools satisfactorily to very well during video editing tasks.

It is silent, has 4 copper pipes (I saw a photo with 2 pipes, but the Max version has 4), the fins on its coolers are very thin and appear delicate, so it requires special attention during installation. The overall height is 14.7 cm and it might fit just barely in a midi tower.

As for reliability, we will see, time will tell.
