Description

Description

Charge controller by Andowl, suitable for installations up to 100A at 24V. It is a PWM type.

PWM charge controllers simply connect the solar panel to the battery (12/24/48V), acting as simple switches. When the switch closes, the panel voltage equals that of the battery.

The result is that the voltage of the array that the PWM controller can accept depends on the battery voltage and is small, typically one to two panels of 100/200Wp in series and with correspondingly small charging current compared to the capabilities of an MPPT charge controller.

PWM charge controllers are ideal for smaller systems where system efficiency is not such an important factor and for solar collectors with a maximum power voltage (Vmp) up to 18V for charging a 12V battery.
