Fully Weighted Keyboard with Triple Sensors and Aftertouch

The Nord Stage 4 73 features a fully weighted keyboard with 73 keys and integrated Triple Sensor technology. This design accurately captures the speed and release position of each key, providing dynamic control and allowing rapid repetition with the feel of an acoustic piano. Aftertouch support also lets you expressively introduce modulations and effects by applying pressure to the keys after the initial strike.

Piano Engine & Acoustic Performance Technologies

The piano section features a dual sound engine (2 Piano Layers) and comes with 2 GB of memory for the Nord Piano Library. It includes a wide selection of grand pianos, upright pianos, electric pianos, Clavinet and harpsichord. It incorporates Advanced String Resonance technology to reproduce the strings’ internal resonances, Dynamic Pedal Noise when used with a compatible pedal, as well as Unison and Dynamic Compression functions and 3 selectable touch curves.

Organ & Wave 2 Synth Engine

The Organ section is based on B3 Tonewheel, B3 Bass, Vox and Farfisa simulations, as well as two Pipe Organ models, and features physical drawbars with illuminated LED indicators. The Synth section is based on the Nord Wave 2 Synth Engine and features three independent layers (3 Synth Layers), supporting Virtual Analog synthesis, Sample Playback with 1 GB of memory, and FM and Waveform modulation. It includes advanced filters (Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass, Ladder), an Arpeggiator with Polyphonic Pattern mode, and an ADR/ASR envelope.

User Interface, Split/Layering & Standalone Effects Unit

The Stage 4 user interface provides direct control without complicated menus, featuring separate LED faders for each of the 7 available layers. It lets you create up to 7 split zones with Split Point Crossfade for smooth transitions between zone boundaries. In addition, the effects section has been completely redesigned, offering independent effects chains for each layer with modulation effects (Tremolo, Chorus, Phaser, Flanger), a Pump effect, Delay with Tap Tempo, amplifier simulation, a 3-band EQ, and Reverb with 6 algorithms (Spring, Booth, Room, Stage, Hall, Cathedral).
