The Battle of Kilkis on November 4, 1944, was one of the bloodiest conflicts at the end of the Nazi Occupation period and one of the least known and investigated.

It left as a legacy the absolute division, which at the local level was "overcome" with silence and the monologues of the political successors of the protagonists.

The main text of this edition concerns the battle itself that took place in Kilkis between ELAS and the anti-communist groups organized by the Germans.

The author presents the organization of the multifaceted National Resistance and places particular emphasis on the processes of formation of the collaborationist groups, whether those around the Quislings of Athens or those directly controlled by the German occupying authorities in Northern Greece.
